About Africolor Festival Global Identity
Africolor Festival is the visual identity created for the thirtieth anniversary edition of a music festival held in Paris. The design is based on the idea of resonance, suggesting that the festival keeps echoing across time and borders. A typographic game cuts and repeats the letters of the title to create a vibrant rhythm. The identity is clear, direct, colorful and joyful. The poster is produced in two contrasting versions, one red and one green. The same visual system is applied to brochures, flyers, subway posters, banners, tote bags and social media publications.

Design Details
- Unique Properties
- Creation of the festival's visual identity to be deployed on all print and digital supports (posters, brochure, leaflet, flyers, kakemonos, totebags, social publications, digital adds, Cd)
- Inspiration
- Africolor is celebrating its 30th anniversary this edition is therefore the year of reunion with the artists who punctuated the festival but also those of the contemporary Afro-beat electronic scene. The word that inspired this visual creation is "resonate" : the vibration of bodies souls and spirits over time, beyond borders... Africolor never stops echoing! Translated by a typographical game that makes the title vibrate, creates a joyful rhythm and suggests that the right waves are spreading.
- Realization and Technology
- The first step of research is to make sketches on paper. Once I found the essential idea I continued the creative process on Adobe Illustrator, adapted to test different compositions. I cut the letters and duplicated them to create a vibrant rhythm. The different visuals of communication of the festival with formats as different as a poster, a kakemono or an Instagram publication were made via Illustrator and Indesign for the flyer and the brochure.
- Project Duration and Location
- The project started in march 2019 for its conception, and finished in october, and it was launched in Paris from november to december 2019, during the festival.
