More About Kong-Ke Museum Visual Identity

Kong-Ke Museum is a visual identity for an exhibition venue in Taichung, Taiwan, that also serves as a rest station for construction workers. The logo forms characters with short strokes, leaving them unfinished. The unfinished form refers to the transitional feeling of a construction site. The guidance system uses materials found on site, such as formwork, scrap wood, circular saw blades and plastic water pipes. Paint buckets filled with cement, water pipes, polycarbonate wave boards and gloves mark positions within the space. Posters are screen printed on cement bag packaging.

Award Record

This recognition makes Googoods a winner of 2 A' Design Awards. The awards were granted in the 2020 - 2021 edition of the A' Design Award & Competition.

Design Details

Unique Properties
Using existing materials is a great feature of the workers. The guidance system uses material elements that are often found at the construction site: formwork, excess scrap wood, circular saw blades, and plastic water pipes... to form a layout plan. Paint buckets filled with cement, water pipes, polycarbonate wave boards and gloves: this matching element commonly found in various construction sites constitutes a device that guides the position in the space. The poster uses cement bag packaging for screen printing as a visual expression.
Inspiration
Kong-Ke Museum is a new-style exhibition venue combined with a work station for workers to rest in Taichung. The logo of Kong-Ke Museum expresses the unfinished form of characters with short strokes. Through communication with the public and their participation, the whole picture of the museum will be completed.
