The app has information about plants with photos and descriptions and will notify you of when you should water the plant. It will also tell you the perfect time to plant a new plant.
- Inspiration
- Design for the app was inspired by the nature and plants, so the color pallete consists of different tone of green color. There are a lot of photos of plants in the app and elements in the interface have round corners to convey calm and peaceful atmosphere.
- Research
- I started the work by analyzing similar apps and created different user stories to understand the needs of all the users. After that, I made scenarios based on them, created a customer journey map, and made wireframes. Then clickable prototype was tested on different users, so it can be iproved. After that I started working the overall UI design, so that it suits the target audience.
- Challenge
- The main task was to design and prototype an experience for planning which plants to plant during different seasons. The app should have an option to search plants among different categories with a filter. It should be easy for a new user to find different plants. All of the important information about the plant and how to take care of it should be in the app. The app should be easy to use and understand and at the same time visually interesting, modern, and minimalist.
- Realization and Technology
- The design and prototype were made in Adobe XD. Photos were retouched in Adobe Photoshop.
- Operation and Interaction
- In the app you can find plants from different categories. Plants have different tags, so user can search for plats for beginners or pro depending on their experience. Each plant has a description and also information about how often to water it and tips of how to plant and grow it. User can add plant to their plants list and add notification which will notify of the time it should be watered. In the watering reminder page there is a calender with all of the user's plants and times where they should be watered. Also app contains different interesting articles about plants.
