Design Details
- Unique Properties
- The "RoseHeart Legacy" is a pioneering jewelry piece that seamlessly integrates artistry with innovation. Featuring a white diamond rose and a bold red ruby, it symbolizes the duality of purity and passion. A hidden heartbeat sensor captures the wearer’s pulse, transforming it into a personal, interactive treasure. Its adaptable design shifts effortlessly from necklace to brooch, offering unmatched versatility. This fusion of luxury, emotion, and technology.
- Inspiration
- The "RoseHeart Legacy" draws inspiration from Snow-White and Rose-Red, blending gentleness and strength, purity and passion. A white rose with sparkling diamonds symbolizes innocence, while a vibrant red ruby reflects courage and emotion. White gold leaves unite these elements, bridging nature’s timeless connection. This design celebrates contrasts, soft yet bold, classic yet modern, creating a legacy of beauty and resilience that honors harmony in duality.
- Research
- The "RoseHeart Legacy" project is a design-led research endeavor, blending artistic creativity with technological innovation. It investigates how jewelry can go beyond decoration by weaving together beauty, emotion, and functionality, using traditional craftsmanship and modern tools to craft a piece that feels alive and personal. Research Objectives The goal was to create a jewelry piece that’s more than just stunning—it’s meaningful and interactive. We aimed to: Capture the duality of purity (white rose with diamonds) and passion (red ruby) from the Snow-White and Rose-Red fairy tale. Add a heartbeat sensor to connect the wearer’s emotions to the jewel.
- Challenge
- The design of the "RoseHeart Legacy" jewel was a creative and research-driven challenge that aimed to blend artistic tradition with technological innovation. It drew inspiration from the fairy tale Snow-White and Rose-Red. The primary challenge was to strike a balance between classic beauty and modern technology while capturing the story’s key symbols: fragility (represented by the white rose) and strength (represented by the red ruby).
- Realization and Technology
- "RoseHeart Legacy" combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge innovation. The delicate leaves are sculpted from 18K white gold, providing a luminous yet understated frame. The white rose is crafted from ethically sourced, premium diamonds that shimmer brilliantly, while the 1.2-carat red ruby, precision-cut for maximum radiance, adds a daring touch. A tiny heartbeat sensor, powered by advanced miniaturized technology, is seamlessly embedded behind the rose, preserving the piece’s elegance. This perfect balance of classic techniques and modern advancements honors tradition while stepping boldly into the future.
- Operation and Interaction
- The heartbeat sensor, subtly placed behind the white rose, is the interactive core of "RoseHeart Legacy." When worn against the skin, it detects the wearer’s pulse, forging a unique bond between the jewelry and their emotions—a constant reminder of life’s rhythm. The piece also effortlessly shifts from a captivating necklace to a bold brooch, enhancing how the wearer engages with it. This smooth transition between forms and functions creates a seamless blend of art and practicality.
