About Terry

- Production Technology
- Ceramic Pieces handmade in Italy, based on a simple pencil sketch made on a road trip from Puglia to Venice, the sketch was presented to a local artisan and made with unique care and craft. Every piece is unique. Finish: White/Glossy.
- Design Challenge
- The hardest part was to create a quality product, functional and attractive, but the biggest challenge was to understand the market: Users like imperfections? Can design be imperfect today? YES, people likes real and unique products, imperfections are part of this process.
- Research
- The research behind this product was to design an object as unique expression of a Human needs. Every furniture should not be just a functional object but should bring joy and meanings. My research started understanding how UX design is interacting with our behavior and how I could move this ephemeral computer concept in a Design product that we can use in our daily life. Can Design share emotions? The result was Terry: an emotion behind a unique object.
- Inspiration
- Terry is the expression of how design can be emotional: Different shapes are combined together: tall, short, skinny, fused all gather together in a rectangular base. We live in a world where we should remind our-self that we need to accept each other, no matter colors, cultures and languages. Having a nice dinner with this centerpiece over the table want to be a reminder that LOVE has different Shapes and an object is not just an object.
- Project Duration
- Project started in 2010 on a road trip from Puglia to Verona. The design was finalized in Soave, a small town close to Verona. First sample made in 2011 with a local artisan.
- Operation Flow
- Terry can have different sizes and can be used as centerpiece, storage and as simple combination of vases for flowers, candy, candles, Fruit, Jewelry and much more. As Main centerpiece on a dinner table or memories storage in the living room or bedroom, Terry is elegant and functional for all.
