About Ryo アームチェア
Ryoは、ひと続きの連続した形状として造形されたアームチェアです。うねりは座面から背もたれへと流れ、途切れることのないループを描き出します。このデザインは、ありふれた家具がより自由な形をとることはできないだろうか、という問いから始まりました。複雑な三次元曲面の製作は困難を伴いましたが、ストレッチ生地を用いることで実現しています。アームチェアの寸法は、幅725ミリメートル、奥行730ミリメートル、高さ800ミリメートルです。湾曲したシェルは腰掛ける人を包み込み、空間に彫刻的な要素をもたらします。

- Production Technology
- Creating the shape of the tertiary surface proved extremely challenging. It was achieved by employing stretch fabric.
- Design Challenge
- Expressing the form of the cubic surface and realising it while utilising the engineers' skills proved extremely challenging. Through repeated discussions, we continued to seek the correct solution until completion was achieved.
- Inspiration
- This project began with the question: could we express the commonplace piece of furniture that is the armchair in a freer form? The idea expanded from the seat to back, the undulations creates an uninterrupted loop.

- The project started in Apr. 2020 in Tokyo and finished in Jan. 2021 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2022.
- Operation Flow
- This unique chair, which adorns the space, envelops those who sit upon it. It promises an experience unlike any other.
