Parachute ಗೋಡೆ ಶೆಲ್ಫ್ ಕುರಿತು
ಪ್ಯಾರಾಚೂಟ್ ಎಂಬುದು ಶೀಟ್ ಮೆಟಲ್‌ನಿಂದ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ ಗೋಡೆ ಶೆಲ್ಫ್ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ವಿಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವಾಗ, ಆ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಹಲಗೆ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನೇತಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ನೇತಾಡುವ ಹಲಗೆ ಕೋಟ್, ಮ್ಯಾಗಜೀನ್ ಅಥವಾ ಅಂತಹ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅವು ಬೀಳದಂತೆ ತಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮೇಲ್ಮೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಳುವಾದ ಅಂತರಗಳಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಪಡಿಸಲಾದ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಪಟ್ಟೆಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಶೆಲ್ಫ್ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಪ್ಯಾರಾಚೂಟ್‌ನ ಗ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಕಲಾಕೃತಿಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಪ್ಯಾರಾಚೂಟ್ 790 ಮಿ.ಮೀ ಅಗಲ, 30 ಮಿ.ಮೀ ಆಳ ಮತ್ತು 220 ಮಿ.ಮೀ ಎತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಈ ಹೆಸರು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಬೀಳುವ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

It seems that the name "parachute" comes combining the Italian "parare" (to protect) with the French "chute" (to fall).
I thought that was a rather fine name.
