Kayan 2022 달력 소개

Kayan 2022는 건축 사무소를 위해 제작된 접이식 달력이다. 비도공 무목재(우드프리) 용지에 인쇄되었으며, 작은 정사각형으로 접혀 휴대와 보관이 용이하다. 펼치면 한 장의 종이가 벽이나 보드에 걸 수 있는 커다란 정사각형 포스터가 된다. 각 달은 기하학적 형태로 표현되며, 날짜는 그 형태를 따라 흐르듯 배열된다. 주말은 빠르게 알아볼 수 있도록 다른 색으로 인쇄되었다. 여백의 흰 공간은 메모를 적을 수 있게 해준다. 한 해가 끝나면 포스터를 뒤집어 건축 디테일을 담은 콜라주를 감상할 수 있다.

고유 특성: The concept was to create a unique calendar design that has dual function and can be used after the calendar days end. It was designed in a foldable pocket size to make it easier for clients to collect and consider, when the calendar is opened it transforms into a big square poster that can be displayed on a board or wall. The dates are gray in color and the weekends are colored differently for easier identification. The numbers flow around the unique iconic shapes. Its design is very simple and can be easily read without the need of adding days above the dates. The poster is double sided, one side has the calendar design and the opposite side has a collage of architecture details.

디자인 과제: The concept design was the most challenging part in this design and then presenting it in a way to convince the business owner to produce it.
연구: Digital research of similar unique calendar designs, check availability of materials in the market, Kuwait is a very limited market in terms of resources and can be challenging to find the right materials for the right project. But keeping it simple was the best decision made.
영감: The logo was inspired by the "Kayan" logo design, using the simplified shapes from the logo (triangles and squares) they created 12 unique shapes in different forms that looks like a broken cube, each form creates a unique iconic shape. The geometric shapes represents the architecture designs that are developed by the architecture firm.
프로젝트 기간: Project started in August in Kuwait and was printed in December and distributed to Kayan's Clients
운영 흐름: The Calendar has plenty of white space for the user to add notes and mark important dates, which makes it very practical and functional. When the year ends the poster can be flipped to use it as a decorative poster to display the unique design of the architecture designed by Kayan Office.
