About The Terrarium Place Villa

Inspiratio unicae huius villae e formationibus petrarum in loci landscape venit, ubi geometrica naturae numquam mirari desinit. Idea erat molem aedificationis traditionalis destruendi et consilium in circuitu suo insertum, formas naturales aemulando. In medio Terrarii Loco jacet area pulchre landscapi-aeeris atrii. Omnis locus in domo circum se sita est, et sic habet infinitam profluentiam luminis, aeris naturalis et viroris. Cum tres tantum colores principales per totum spatium gerentes, concretum, lucidum, aes et viride.

Credits, team members and technical details provided by the designer.

Unique Properties: At the center of the Terrarium Place, lies a beautifully landscaped open-air courtyard. Every room in the house is situated around it and thus has endless flow of light, natural air and greenery. With only three main colors carrying through the entire space, concrete, light bronze and green, the sense of harmony and indoor-outdoor balance is further established with a natural stone wall, extended from the exterior to the interior.

Design Challenge: The hardest part of this design activity as an architect was balancing competing priorities and constraints, such as client requirements, site limitations, technical considerations, timeline, and budget, while creating a a beautiful functional and visually appealing design solution.
Inspiration: The inspiration for this unique villa came from rock formations in the local landscape, where nature’s geometry never ceases to amaze. The idea was to break down the traditional building mass and create a design that is integrated with its environs, by emulating natural shapes.
Project Duration: The project started in February 2021 and finished in March 2022 in Kuwait.
