About Hotaru Liesestull

Hotaru ass e Liesestull mat integréierter Beliichtung. De Luuchtestänner déngt och als Réckelehn, an d'Liicht fällt op d'Hänn vun der Persoun, déi setzt. D'Luucht geet am Donkelen un a graff, wa Leit an der Nächt sinn. D'Positioun vun der Beliichtung kann no vir a no hannen ugepasst ginn. Hotaru gëtt aus véier Deeler zesummegesat, engem Sëtz, Féiss, engem Stänner an enger Luuchteenheet, ouni Metallbeschléi. Dat laminéiert Sperrholz vum Sëtz bleift siichtbar, fir d'Wäermt vum Holz ze weisen. Nieft engem Bett opgestallt, funktionnéiert Hotaru och als Nuetstëschen a Luucht. Den Design past gutt fir Wunnengen mat wéinegem Plaz.

Unique Properties: When we sit in a chair, it illuminates our hands brightly. The light stand acts as a backrest. It's a chair for reading, but it can also be used as a side table and lighting by placing it on the bedside.
Dimensions & Packaging: White, width 380mm, height 380mm, depth 1890mm
Black, width 350mm, height 350mm, depth1790mm
Tags: Chair, lighting, furniture, reading, prefabricated
Production Technology: By showing the laminated plywood on the seat, we left the warmth of the wood. It can be assembled without using metal fittings
Design Challenge: I had a hard time deciding the angle of my legs. Since the overall balance changes depending on the angle, I adjusted it little by little with the mockup.
Research: Japanese houses have small floor plans and little space for furniture, so I researched furniture to put in a small space. Since chairs take up space in furniture, it was a new proposal by giving the backrest multiple functions of lighting.
Inspiration: Due to the epidemic of the new coronavirus, the amount of time spent at home has increased. I designed a chair with integrated lighting for reading books in order to enrich my time alone. This work was inspired by performers who were spotlighted on stage. Because it was similar to reading a book with a light in a dark room. It turns on and off in the dark in response to people. The blinking appearance looks like a firefly that emits a fantastic and gentle light. I named it Hotaru in Japanese.
Project Duration: The Lamp stool was designed in Okinawa in 2022.
Operation Flow: This chair is used by assembling four parts: seat, feet, stand, and lighting. The position of the lighting can be adjusted back and forth.
