I graduated in the three-year course of Interior Design at IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, via A. Sciesa) in 2015.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?

I graduated in the three-year course of Interior Design at IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, via A. Sciesa) in 2015. Here I developed an interest in Naval Design due to the collaboration with MONDOMARINE & HOT LAB. Subsequently, I attended a master’s degree course at ‘Politecnico di Milano’ that allowed me to specialise in Product Design. I became a designer because I love imagining and dreaming about everything that can be created.I think I was destined to become a desiger.

How did you become a designer?

I became a designer because I love imagining and dreaming about everything that can be created.I think I was destined to become a desiger. I worked for the architect Simone Micheli's studio. I am a young designer, my studio is still creating, I hope I can do it soon.

What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?

My process of a good design is born with intuition and a strong concept, then we continue with the creation of drawing sketches, then we make a real 3D project to understand how the design works.

Which emotions do you feel when designing?

the most exciting phase of a design is the realization. design makes me happy, but it is an emotion that can not be described. The initial idea is more exciting, and the path of design is the most exciting thing.

What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?

I like to see things work. I would call myself ‘eternal enthusiastic’. I like to carry my job in my interests and my interests in my job. I have a very strong character and I am very sure of myself in my work and in the things I do.I think these skills are allowed to become a designer. The great masters of design have influenced and my design. I always take inspiration from the teachers of the past.

What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?

My dream is to be recognized as an Italian designer. My plans are to open my studio, I hope, with my co-worker Diana Rumbolà. I would like to live in America or in Italy and be able to work planning with a team.

What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?

My advice for new and young designers is to never lose sight of your dreams, work hard and not be afraid to express your ideas. In this world team work is important, we need to know how to listen to advice, even from other young designers.

You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?

I'm a young designer so I don't feel like having much advice. The only advice I can have is to always be humble in one's life.

What is your day to day look like?

I like to start the day with new challenges, I love to design, and test myself in every kind of design, from the product to the graphic one.My day begins with information, looking for new technologies or materials, or the trendy color of the moment.

How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter?

I want my designs to reflect my way of being, I also follow trends, but I think the best way to express myself is through design. I'm always looking for the beautiful aesthetic, but functional, with the use of new technologies that respect the environment. I like to do is develop a collection of products and I would take inspiration from everything around me.

How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?

I do not think there are good or bad designs, I evaluate a design based on the type of materials used and the type of technology. I believe we must always be on the cutting edge.

How do you decide if your design is ready?

I decide that my design is ready when I'm satisfied with what it is. When it is physically produced, design will always be a way to improve it.In general I think that you never stop learning.

Now I'm in Italy. At the moment I would like to make the prototype of the lamp being, in order to be able to produce it.I think every city can give us a different stimulus. At the moment my favorite city is New York, but I always change my mind. I think culture greatly influences the type of design.

Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?

I think it's easy to work with me, working alone or in a team. My ideal work partner must know how to listen and our relationship must be of mutual esteem.I believe that the characteristics that a good designer should have are: imagination, creativity, patience, enthusiasm, and humility. In the people who work with me, I'm looking for a "factory of ideas".

What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?

I haven't had the chance to work for the community yet but I would like to try and do pro bono jobs.

What positive experiences you had when you attend the A' Design Award?

There are many benefits of participating to design competitions such as the A' Design Award. One of the most important sencondo me is to test yourself as a designer. This competition gives you the opportunity to make known your design and also your professional figure. Competitions can contribute a lot to the realization of their dreams. And I think they are important and relevant as professional growth. I'm so happy to have participated in this competition and I hope I can win another one.

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

I graduated in the three-year course of Interior Design at IED Milano (Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan, via A. Sciesa) in 2015. Here I developed an interest in Naval Design due to the collaboration with MONDOMARINE & HOT LAB. Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

I don't have a studio yet, I'm a young designer, but I hope I can open it soon

What is "design" for you?

When I think about good design, I think about functionality and the ability for someone who has never seen the finished item before to ascertain the information he or she needs quickly. Great design adds beauty and style to that functionality. Having an outdated look or one that doesn't match what you're trying to make can definitely hurt the end result, but having poor functionality, especially in an age where we have at least 2-3 other options for a service, can destroy a design.

What kinds of works do you like designing most?

I like to do is develop a collection of products and I would take inspiration from everything around me.

What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

The "Eames" design is inspiring. During the project, Charles told a staff member, “If you ask for criticism, you get it. If you don’t, there is a chance everyone will be too busy to worry about it.”

What was the first thing you designed for a company?

I think of the tradition that the company has and I try to respect it to the fullest.

What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

Everything can be the source of inspiration if you are open for it.

When do you feel the most creative?

When there is something that inspires me strongly.

Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

I focus more on the concept and then on the realization.

What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

The most exciting phase of a design is the realization. Design makes me happy, but it is an emotion that can not be described. The initial idea is more exciting, and the path of design is the most exciting thing.

What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

It's an emotion that can not be described.

What makes a design successful?

Concept is the foundation of any successful design, it’s like design DNA. First of all I figure out what I am trying to say conceptually. The concept provides the direction for the entire project. Without a solid concept its almost impossible to create a lasting design.

When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

When I think about good design, I think about functionality and the ability for someone who has never seen the finished item before to ascertain the information he or she needs quickly. Great design adds beauty and style to that functionality. Having an outdated look or one that doesn't match what you're trying to make can definitely hurt the end result, but having poor functionality, especially in an age where we have at least 2-3 other options for a service, can destroy a design.

From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

It is said that: socially responsible design is an attitude that emphasizes the needs and experiences of people over concerns of form or aesthetics. I think that we can pay attention to form and aesthetics, also respecting the environment. A resposable design can also be a perfect design in form and aesthetic.

How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

The task of design is to find aesthetic and functional solutions to everything we live. I hope that in the future there will be a lot more attention to the environment. I hope in a furious design that cares about our life and our world

When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

I have not done an exhibition yet, I hope I can do it soon.

Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

My inspiration comes from everything around me. One of my greatest sources of inspiration is Nature, its forms, the ability to combine colors, its functions.

How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

The thing that interests me most has happened to do something that will adore and excite others. I really like the colors, the lights and their combination. Then everything must become functional.

Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

I live in Italy, one of the main countries in the world for culture and artistic heritage. Surely the culture appresadal my country has allowed me to grow until now. But even the contamination of cultures I find it a very interesting topic.

How do you work with companies?

I haven't worked with companies yet.

What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

I don't know because I have not worked with companies yet, but I think they need to look for specialized designers who have a lot of practical experience.

Can you talk a little about your design process?

My design process starts from the concept, the concept is fundamental, then from the idea I try to create through sketches what can be the shape of the object, then I think a 3D model to better see the result after the result satisfies me can proceed with production

Can you describe a day in your life?

Every day is different!

Be curious, ask lots of questions, inquire about how an object is produced, go to visit factories or laboratories, understand the material, know it to be able to appreciate it in all its particularities, and do not demoralize immediately to the first closed door.

From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

I think that if one appreciates and loves his profession as a designer, he can only find positive aspects

What is your "golden rule" in design?

Concentration, imagination and feeling good about yourself

What skills are most important for a designer?

Culture, the history of design and society, knowledge of materials and new production techniques, belief in oneself, creativity, imagination and passion.

Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?

First pencils pens and watercolors and drawing tools, afterwards come the software and hardware for project accuracy.

Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

Organizing your time, but I think that it takes a lot of experience!

How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?

It depends on the inspiration from the moment and from other factors.

What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
