About Trenta Fotelis

Trenta – tai fotelis su reguliuojamu atlošu. Galinėje dalyje esantis metalinis mechanizmas leidžia nustatyti tris atlošimo kampus, todėl fotelis tinka tiek pokalbiui, tiek poilsiui. Pagrindas pagamintas iš beicuotos Tauri medienos, gautos iš atkuriamų miškų, o vidinis korpusas – iš anatominės faneros. Medinės dalys suformuotos didelio tikslumo CNC apdirbimu, o natūralios odos apmušalai pagaminti rankomis. Metalinės dalys padengtos elektrostatine danga. Nenutrūkstamos lenktos linijos ir sklandūs perėjimai suteikia foteliui skulptūrišką formą. Komplektą papildo derantis pufas.

Unique Properties
The design stands out for its innovative backrest adjustment system, offering three distinct comfort levels via a metallic mechanism on the rear. Its aesthetic is marked by high-complexity wood machining, featuring continuous curved lines and fluid transitions. Reconciling ergonomic excellence with a sculptural form, the chair adapts for both social interaction and deep relaxation, showcasing a sophisticated balance between technology and craftsmanship.
Dimensions & Packaging
Armchair: Width 790mm x Depth 1040mm x Height 860mm. Ottoman (Puff): Width 620mm x Depth 500mm x Height 370mm. Primary Materials: Tauri Wood, Natural Leather, and Carbon Steel. The design integrates an internal anatomical plywood shell and a stained solid wood base.

Production Technology
The production combines high-precision CNC machining for the wooden components with artisanal upholstery. The base is crafted from reforestation Tauri wood with a stained finish, while the internal structure features anatomical plywood. Metallic parts receive a durable electrostatic coating. This synergy between advanced automation and reforestation wood sourcing ensures structural integrity and environmental responsibility for the high-end market.
Design Challenge
The main technological challenge was reconciling the organic, fluid lines of the original sketch with the constraints of industrial production. Executing the complex wood machining required significant software optimization and a high degree of technical synergy with the manufacturing chain. Developing the integrated metal adjustment system within a wooden structure also demanded meticulous engineering to maintain structural durability without compromising the sculptural silhouette.
Research
This applied research bridges artistic sketching with industrial precision to achieve fluid forms and elevate the regional furniture cluster's potential. Using iterative 3D modeling and CNC optimization via CAD/CAM tools, designers worked with machine programmers and Italian consultants. Results include an innovative reclining system and complex joinery, proving that design complexity and reforestation sourcing drive regional technological growth and luxury business value.
Inspiration
The inspiration stems from the desire to transform wood into a fluid language, where sinuous curves challenge the boundary between creative manual sketches and precision engineering. This project invites the viewer to explore its tridimensional details, offering a sensory journey through natural materials and high-end manufacturing.
Project Duration
The armchair was developed in 2021 (or late 2020) as part of a commemorative collection in Brazil.
It was officially launched on the market in early 2022. It was one of the highlights at ABIMAD'33 (Brazilian Furniture and High Decoration Accessories Fair), which took place between February 1st and 4th, 2022, in São Paulo.
Operation Flow
The user interacts with the piece through a manual adjustment system located on the backrest. By operating the metallic mechanism, the chair reclines into three specific comfort angles. This feature allows for a personalized experience, transforming the object from a standard armchair into a lounging piece. The transition is smooth and intuitive, emphasizing user-centric design and functional versatility.
