About Oscarina Seza

Ny Oscarina dia seza natao tanana, nahazo aingam-panahy avy amin'ny fanaka modernista Breziliana tamin'ny taona 1950. Ny famolavolana dia mampiasa akora roa ihany, dia ny hazo sy ny tsimbolotra tsofina, izay samy mifamatotra akaiky amin'ny lovantsofina asa tanana Breziliana. Ny tsipika mahitsy dia ampifangaroina amin'ny endrika notefena tamin'ny lozama. Ny singa tsirairay dia tapahina, tsofàna, azo amin'ny lozama, ary apeta-namby, avy eo hosorana varnish, ary ny tsimbolotra dia ahantona amin'ny lakan-drano voatapaka amin'ny hazo. Ny anarana dia manondro ny Katedraly Brasilia nataon'i Oscar Niemeyer, izay nahazoana aingam-panahy tamin'ireo tsipika. Ny seza dia manana refy 525 amby 497 amby 858 milimetatra ary mety amin'ny tranom-pandrenesana maro.

Production Technology
It is done manually with the aid of a lathe. It is done one by one to ensure a good finish. The wood is cut and sanded, then turned and the pieces glued together to receive varnish. Finally, the cane fabric is fixed in the wooden channels.
Design Challenge
The challenge was to fix the woven cane in the wooden channels. In an artisanal way, we used a string to fix it. Finally, we had the chair with anatomic design in woven cane with the comfort and safety that we desire.
Research
The research was done on the modernist period (big designers and materials used) and the way of artisanal production and we discovered that the constructive and material quality was the most important for a piece in this time. Than we research about materials, and we decided use just two: Wood and woven cane, so caracteristic of Brazil.
Inspiration
Is inspired by the period modernist and big names in the design of the time, like Lina Bo Bardi and Joaquin Tenreiro. As a basis, it uses lines inspired by the Cathedral of Brasilia, a work by Oscar Niemeyer, for this reason, it was named Oscarina. A combination of straight and hand-turned lines with noble and caracterist Brazilian materials such as wood and woven cane. The idea was to develop a chair with elements that point to a common identity in modernist furniture.
Project Duration
The project started in August 2020 and finished in January 2021 in Brazil.
Operation Flow
A chair with a structure well worked in wood, using simple lines, which can be incorporated in various environments, bringing sophistication and lightness. Materializes the basic act of sitting.
