About Sway Kursi Bar

Sway iko carano untuak manjajaki ritme jo pola diri awak. Malalui pangamatan jo panamuan garak-garak tak sadar nan kadang-kadang terjadi, dicatat bahwa urang kadang manunjuakan tingkah laku tak sadar, sarupo bagoyang, wakatu mamasuki kaadaan aliran mental. Dengan manyatupadanan bandul di bawah duduakan, tinggi jo raso unik nan disadioan dek kursi bar dimanfaaikan. Inyo manyadioan katabilan jo goyangan nan terkontrol dalam ukuran ketek, nan mamungkinan pamakai manjajaki jo mancari ritme diri urang surang. Dengan desain kursi bar nan tinggi jo garakan bagoyangannyo, Sway mampromosian kaadaan pikiran nan mananaangkan jo kontemplatif.

Unique Properties: A way to explore your own rhythm and patterns.

By leveraging the height and the unique sensation that a bar stool provides, incorporating a pendulum beneath the seat. Sway provides stability and controlled, small-scale rocking that allows users to explore and find your own rhythm and patterns. With its high bar stool design and rocking motion, Sway promotes a calming and contemplative state of mind.

Production Technology: Traditional bending, handmade welding, handmade woodworking, surface treatment.
Design Challenge: The production process involves traditional tube bending and handmade welding, but transforming unconscious behavior and mental flow into objects is the longest and most thoughtful part of the entire creative process.
Research: Inspired by the observation and discovery of people's occasional unconscious behavior of rocking, research has found that it has a similar function of "awakening" the brain, promoting cognitive thinking ability, increasing blood flow, and inducing a state of mental flow. From this intriguing phenomenon, the concept was transformed into the design of an object, particularly a bar stool, utilizing the unique sensation brought by the bar stool to create a high rocking chair. The chair aims to evoke a relaxed atmosphere and aid in achieving a state of focused thinking.

Subsequently, the center of gravity was tested to determine the appropriate proportions of length and weight distribution. Once the size was defined, the design was conceived, and PVC water pipes were heated to create the model of the chair frame ,and size adjustments. Finally, surface treatment was applied.
Inspiration: Through observing and discovering these occasional unconscious movements, it has been noted that people sometimes exhibit unconscious behaviors, such as rocking, when entering a state of mental flow. This fascinating phenomenon has inspired me to transform it into a design object.
Project Duration: The project lasts for one semester and takes place at Shih Chien University.
