Design Challenge

Wooden radio is a very polluted market with many similar designs. the challenge in this project was to provide a unique style, while keeping the cabinet as wood. The proportions and visual balance between the wood and plastic was the real attention point during the design process.

Research

DAB Internet Radio is a product with a specialised target user. During the research stage, first an email based online survey with the help of internet radio channels was conducted and the user personas are created accordingly. The feedbacks related to increasing visibility of the "wood feeling" in the front face and charging mobile devices while operating the radio were proved to be essential needs of the target user.
