About W Horse Stud Vila

Teks Buku: W Horse Stud adalah rumah percutian yang direka bentuk untuk tapak seluas 10000 meter persegi di kawasan pertanian Wafra, Kuwait. Rumah ini dinaikkan 140 sentimeter dari permukaan tanah untuk membuka pemandangan ke arah kawasan padang kuda di sekelilingnya. Pelan rumah ini dibahagikan kepada dua paksi. Satu paksi menempatkan kandang kuda. Paksi yang lain menempatkan bilik tidur, kawasan makan dan ruang tamu yang luas menghadap kolam renang. Teres sepanjang 40 meter dilindungi oleh bumbung julang sepanjang 3 meter untuk memberi perlindungan daripada cahaya matahari dan pasir. Pembinaan menggunakan blok ringan bertebat, kaca, struktur konkrit dan bumbung keluli ringan.

Unique Properties: Built on a 10000-m2 site on a farms side of Wafra agriculture area, Kuwait. The house lifted 140 centimeters above the ground to maximize the views of the surrounding horse paddocks. The layout divided into two axes One of them contains the horse stable, while the other dedicated to the bedrooms, dinning and large living area overlocking the swimming pool.
Dimensions & Packaging: The 40m terrace shaded with 3m cantilevered roof increases the usable areas also created to work as a protection from the sun and the sandy weather of the region.

Production Technology: This vacation house, built with light weight thermal insulated blocks, glass, concrete structure, and light weight steel roof system.
Design Challenge: the main challenge was making a villa for both horses and humans under one roof, we have also study horse behavior very well before the design.so that we can determine the partitioning design and limitation.
Research: horse behavior research
Inspiration: The main views from the house are quite turned to the desert landscaping, horses and the swimming pool. Guest and family spaces cover larger area of the house overlocking the swimming pool that surrounded with desert landscaping and horse arenas. We also anticipate the moment when the natural aging of the landscape will make the house blend more into the site and improve the intended privacy with maintaining the views.
