Untuk meningkatkan rasa memiliki sebuah rumah dan menghubungkan bahagian dalaman dengan alam luar yang indah, pengubahsuaian ini menggunakan unsur kayu dalam kuantiti besar dan menggabungkan pelbagai bahan, mencapai keseimbangan dalam kontras visual yang kuat dan dengan itu membina ruang dengan lapisan yang diperkaya. Di pintu masuk, aliran berbentuk L menampilkan lantai marmar yang seiring dengan dinding berurat kayu. Dipasangkan dengan lukisan impresionis sebagai penyataan visual, ia membentuk pintu masuk yang padat dan bijak yang menyerupai galeri seni.

Unique Properties: To enhance the sense of belonging of a home and connect the interiors with the great outdoors, the renovation applies large quantities of wood elements and combine various materials, striking a balance in the strong visual contrast and thereby constructing a space with enriched layers.

Production Technology: At the entryway, the L-shaped flow features marble flooring that ties with wood-vein walls. Paired with an impressionist painting as a visual statement, they compose a compact, smart entryway that resembles an art gallery.
The common area shares the same combination of wood-vein veneer and intricate-veined marble, decorated with such materials as titanium-plated metal and leather surface. Despite the large volume of the wall storage cabinetry, enriched, vibrant layers are presented through the use of the same tone but different materials. The cabinetry is unevenly divided with planes and lines, while dehumidifiers are cleverly concealed inside the ceiling.
Design Challenge: Due to positions of beams, piping and wiring, the square layout is somehow compromised and has accordingly several nooks, which the designers tactfully and accurately transform into storage cabinetry, display cabinets and space for electrical devices. In so doing, these nooks are turned into parts of a whole, not only making the space square and integrated again, but meeting a small family’s needs for display and storage.
Research: Wall cabinets with varying depths are laid out to ensure good ventilation. In this way, harmony and beauty are attained. Through meticulous pondering and handling of materials, a living space where the public and the private sections are separated is made possible—a space free from mutual disturbance. Life and features of the environment are combined, and a mellow vibe in the space characterized by varying layers, diversity and harmony is created.
Inspiration: Located in a large high-rise residential community in Xindian in the south of the Taipei metropolitan area, Elegant Residence with a Verdant View is a designer couple’s comfy, elegant residence. It stands where the city and forested mountains meet, having a layout of two bedrooms, a living room and a dining room. Windows on two sides let in abundant natural light, and thus the residence boasts a wonderful view of verdant lushness that makes it possible to return to a serene natural environment. As a result, the couple, who live a fast-paced life full of urban hustle and bustle, can wind down and settle back to the basics.
Project Duration: The project is in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow: Next to the entryway is a common area consisting of a living room, a dining room and a study. Its open-floor plan and large mirrors on the wall serve to expand visual capacity in the space.
