About Kodama Bar Stool Bqugħ tal-Bar
Il-Kodama Bar Stool huwa sit tal-injam iddisinjat għall-użu ma' kaunters u bars. Id-disinn isegwi approċċ Japandi b'dehra bbażata u organika. Il-kuntrast bejn il-ġewż u l-injam tat-tفاح jenfasizza l-ġunzjoni oriġinali tal-injam, li tibqa' viżibbli. L-għarfien tradizzjonali tal-ħaddiema tal-injam huwa kkombinat ma' router CNC, li jippermetti ġunzjonijiet ta' kumplessità u preċiżjoni akbar. Is-siġġu jkejjel 45 cm fil-wisa', 54 cm fil-fond u 66 cm fl-għoli. L-isem Kodama ifisser l-ispirtu tas-siġra, u d-disinn ifaħħar l-injam bħala materjal rinnovabbli.

- Production Technology
- The challenge of this project was devising a method to program the powerful CNC router to delicately manifest the design through complex coding of the toolpaths and precision workholdings of the components on the machine. This innovative process has many more exciting years of refinement ahead as we are just beginning to open the door to a new era of parametric design and manufacturing that will allow human creativity to flourish with these new capabilities.
- Design Challenge
- This is a new field of manufacturing with little education opportunities available so I'm self-taught and continually making everything up as I go. I wake up every day feeling like the luckiest guy in the world to be on this creative adventure.
- Inspiration
- The word Kodama translates to the "spirit of the tree". The intent behind the Kodama Bar Stool is to pay tribute to wood, one of our world's most renewable materials, and to honor the tree that granted us its life's work.
The goal of this project was to combine the knowledge of traditional woodworking with a CNC router to accomplish joinery that was previously unobtainable in complexity and precision. - Project Duration
- The project started in 2016 in the mountains of Colorado and was finished in Southern California in March 2019.
- Operation Flow
- Visible and honest wood joinery designed to hopefully endure through generations of daily use.
