About Capture The Moment Film Qasir Animat

Aqbad il-Mument huwa film qasir animat dwar l-importanza tal-ħin fil-fotografija. Il-film juri forom individwali li jimxu u bil-mod jinbidlu f'forom ġodda, biex jibnu mument perfett wieħed. Ix-xogħol huwa animazzjoni ta' ċelluli, miġbud frame b'frame biex jinkiseb moviment fluwidu u organiku. L-ewwel ġew iddisinjati frames ta' stil f'Adobe Illustrator. Imbagħad kull frame ġie animat bil-funzjoni tal-timeline f'Adobe Photoshop. Il-kompilazzjoni, l-aġġustament u l-ittimjar aħħari saru f'Adobe After Effects. Ir-riżultat huwa video ta' 1920 bi 1080 pixel, li jintwera mingħajr ebda interazzjoni.

Behind the Design

Unique Properties: Capture the Moment is a very special project because it took me around four months to create it. It is very detail-oriented because each frame per second has different shapes and elements moving and morphing slowly into different shapes, creating different objects. The video is entirely a cell animation made in Adobe Photoshop. This project was also created purely based on my past experience as a photographer without any external references/inspiration.
Dimensions & Packaging: 1920 x 1080 px in .mp4 format
Tags: motion design, moment, camera, photography, capture, flash, cell animation, golden hour
Production Technology: Firstly, I designed style frames using Adobe Illustrator. Secondly, I animated it frame by frame using the timeline feature in Adobe Photoshop. Lastly, I moved to Adobe After Effects to compile, make adjustments, and finalize the design.
Design Challenge: The most challenging part of this project is in the detail of the aesthetics. My goal is to create a natural, organic fluid movement as much as possible, and in order to create that, I decided to do it with cell animation which takes much more time. The second obstacle is to animate and design all the small elements in a frame to be uniform in the same time.
Inspiration: The inspiration for this project is the beauty of "timing" when taking photographs. This story was based on my past experience working as a photographer where I would wait for several hours for the perfect natural lighting. I believe that a perfect picture wouldn't exist without a perfect moment. "A second would make a big difference!"
Project Duration: The project started in September 2017 in New York and finished in February 2018 in New York, and was exhibited in a screening at SVA Theatre located at 333 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10011.
Operation Flow: This project is a short movie. End user will be able to enjoy this animation without having to interact with anything.
Team Members: Solo Project
