About Spirit of Stillness Disinn tal-Intern ta' Appartament

Spirit of Stillness huwa disinn tal-intern ta' appartament li jkopri 120 metru kwadru fil-Belt ta' Taipei, it-Tajwan. Id-disinn jgħaqqad il-filosofija tal-Lvant ma' estetika moderna biex joħloq spazju kalm f'belt mimlija ħajja. Approċċ tripartitiku jagħti valur indaqs lix-xogħol, ir-rikreazzjoni u l-mistrieħ. Il-ħajt prinċipali huwa magħmul minn frammenti tal-ġebel riċiklati, u l-ħajt artistiku huwa rfinut b'żebgħa ekoloġika Taljana. Struttura tal-metall moħbija ssostni skultura ta' Bodhisattva ta' 30 kilogramma. Id-dawl naturali, dawl LED effiċjenti fl-enerġija, materjali ta' iżolament termali u pjanti li jippurifikaw l-arja jtejbu l-kumdità.

Unique Properties
This interior design merges Eastern philosophy with modern sensibility to create a sanctuary of calm in an urban environment. Unlike other designs, it adheres to a tripartite philosophy called SPIRIT, which equally values work, recreation, and rest.
Dimensions & Packaging
The design covers an area of 120 square meters and includes a specially crafted art wall that can support a 30 kilogram Bodhisattva sculpture. Energy efficient LED lighting systems are deployed along with thermal insulating materials to enhance ventilation.

Production Technology
Selected materials include stone fragments for the primary wall to promote resource recycling and Italian eco-friendly paints for the art wall. Thermal insulating materials improve ventilation while hidden metal elements give support to the Bodhisattva sculpture. Throughout the production process, rigorous sustainability standards were followed to ensure environmental compatibility.
Design Challenge
The most significant challenge was balancing opposing elements such as Eastern and Western aesthetics, sustainability, and luxury, along with tradition and innovation. Regulatory constraints regarding sustainable materials presented logistical challenges, and maintaining aesthetic integrity required attention to every detail. Overcoming these challenges necessitated meticulous planning, extensive research, and the harmonization of various factors to achieve a cohesive final design.
Research
Type of Research: Qualitative and Design Research
Research Objectives: To create a tranquil, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing space.
Methodology: Literature review, material testing, and interviews with users.
Data Collection and Tools: Surveys and in-depth interviews.
Participants: Homeowners, interior designers, and experts in sustainability.
Results: Successful integration of sustainability features with aesthetic elements.
Insights: Adding cultural richness elevates the impact of the design.
Impacts: Offers a model for sustainable yet aesthetically pleasing urban living spaces.
Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from Eastern philosophy, particularly the equanimity expressed in Su Shi's "Ding Feng Bo." The design aims to encapsulate a contemplative worldview by seamlessly integrating artistry with function. Traditional elements are merged with modern aesthetics, creating a dialogue between the past and present, realized through meticulous research and planning.
Project Duration
This project commenced its design phase in March 2023 and concluded in August 2023. It is situated in Taipei City, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
The design offers an intuitive user experience, effectively balancing form and function. Maximized natural light reduces the need for artificial illumination. Air-purifying green plants ensure a consistent flow of fresh air, thus improving the functionality of the space.
