About Ryo Pultruna

Ryo hija pultruna ffurmata bħala forma waħda kontinwa. L-ondulazzjonijiet jiġru mis-sedil sad-dahar u joħolqu ċirku bla interruzzjoni. Id-disinn beda mill-mistoqsija dwar jekk biċċa għamara komuni tistax tieħu forma aktar ħielsa. Il-wiċċ tridimensjonali kumpless kien diffiċli biex jiġi prodott u nkiseb bl-użu ta' drapp elastiku. Il-pultruna tkejjel 725 millimetru fil-wisa', 730 millimetru fil-fond u 800 millimetru fl-għoli. Il-qoxra mgħawġa ddawwar lill-persuna li tpoġġi fuqha u żżid element skulturali mal-ispazju.

Production Technology: Creating the shape of the tertiary surface proved extremely challenging. It was achieved by employing stretch fabric.
Design Challenge: Expressing the form of the cubic surface and realising it while utilising the engineers' skills proved extremely challenging. Through repeated discussions, we continued to seek the correct solution until completion was achieved.
Inspiration: This project began with the question: could we express the commonplace piece of furniture that is the armchair in a freer form? The idea expanded from the seat to back, the undulations creates an uninterrupted loop.

Project Duration: The project started in Apr. 2020 in Tokyo and finished in Jan. 2021 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2022.
Operation Flow: This unique chair, which adorns the space, envelops those who sit upon it. It promises an experience unlike any other.
