This exhibition presents furniture within a large-scale store in Brazil, organized to enhance the perception of each product. Distinct zones were created to emphasize their character: the burgundy area showcases special, standout pieces; the white section features neutral, versatile products; and a third, darker-toned space highlights furniture and items with deeper hues, providing a carefully curated and visually coherent presentation.

The design focused on highlighting each product through distinct spatial environments. Rich burgundy walls were chosen to intensify colors and create striking contrasts, while white walls provide a neutral backdrop that emphasizes the form and details of the furniture. The process combined careful color studies, material selection, and spatial composition to ensure each piece stands out without visual conflict, creating a balanced and immersive exhibition experience.

The greatest challenge was the limited time available to complete the project, which demanded rapid yet careful decision-making. Equally complex was working with the existing product stock while creating a visually coherent and engaging exhibition. Internally, the design had to respect aesthetic and social expectations for a modern retail experience, while externally, constraints included production limitations, material availability, and the need to adapt to the store’s physical layout and technical possibilities.

Research was design-focused, exploring how spatial environments affect product perception. Objectives were to highlight furniture through color and context while creating an engaging visitor experience. Methodology included spatial analysis, color studies, and material testing. Data was collected via mock-ups, material samples, and staff/visitor feedback. Participants included store staff and visitors. Results showed distinct zones improved product visibility and appreciation. Insights revealed that environmental contrast enhances perception, impacting retail display strategies, visitor engagement, and design thinking in commercial spaces.

A vibrant furniture display, intentionally departing from the typical white and minimal commercial interiors, designed to engage and inspire both clients and industry professionals.

Interaction is guided by the store’s spatial layout. Visitors naturally move through four distinct zones: the burgundy area highlights vibrant pieces, the white zone emphasizes neutral forms, the rear space showcases lighting, and the upper dark area presents deeper-toned furniture. Each transition frames products in contrast-rich environments, enhancing perception and engagement, allowing visitors to appreciate color, form, and material more clearly than in a conventional display.
