Research: Gourd is viewed by the Chinese people as typical auspicious elements and symbols meaning "good fortune" and "wealth". The series of jewelry, seeking inspiration from the Big Gourd Bottle collected in the Palace Museum, Beijing, with “gourd” and Chinese character “big fortune” as the main elements, are an example of applying the implied auspicious meaning to modern jewelry. Each shape of gourd is designed with the Chinese characters "big fortune" in the middle, and the characters "big fortune" are presented in the form of abstract lines and patterns. Thus, the combination of modern abstract beauty and Chinese characters highlights the modern aesthetics. In addition, the gourd shape of the necklace pendant has a structure that can be opened to place in pearls, or hang them under the gourd, thus allowing for various ways of wearing.
