- Production Technology
- Realised through collaborative craftsmanship, the project uses bespoke fluted joinery, modular partitions, and precision metal detailing. Materials were selected for sustainability, including FSC-certified timber, low-VOC finishes, and recyclable components. Artificial skylights and efficient ventilation systems enhance environmental comfort and aesthetic harmony.
- Design Challenge
- The greatest challenge was achieving global brand consistency while expressing authentic Taiwanese identity. Balancing symbolic architectural references with modern accessibility required deep cultural and material research. Constraints in ceiling height and sustainability standards further demanded innovative structural and lighting solutions to preserve openness and energy efficiency.
- Project Duration
- The project commenced in May 2023 and was completed in May 2024. It occupies two floors within a commercial building in Taichung and serves as a regional hub for wellness engagement and corporate collaboration.
- Operation Flow
- Visitors are guided through an intuitive spatial journey defined by a meandering brass floor inlay and continuous ceiling light line. Spaces transition seamlessly from retail discovery to consultation and event areas, fostering connection and well-being. The design encourages exploration, promoting natural movement and comfort across the customer and workplace levels.
- Research
- Research was behavioural and spatial, analysing user interaction, dwell patterns, and ergonomics. Methods included observational studies, staff interviews, and on-site prototyping. Data revealed needs for flexibility and calmness in customer movement. Insights informed the spatial sequence, material tactility, and environmental design, enhancing wellness-driven brand experiences.
- Inspiration
- The design draws inspiration from Taiwanese temple rhythms, where vertical and rounded forms evoke both structure and serenity. The project reinterprets these architectural cues through contemporary materials and lighting. The aim was to craft an environment reflecting balance between nature and technology, tradition and modernity, public energy and private calm.
