Glass Library is a lighting scheme for a library set inside a three-level split glass building. The ambient lighting is kept soft and even, so reading stays comfortable as daylight changes. Concealed LED strips inside suspended steel rods create a flowing halo. Recessed floor uplights emphasize the column and the feature wall, while custom recessed accent lights highlight the artifacts. A photo sensor near the glass curtain walls balances interior light levels during the day, as no dimming system could be used.

Unique Properties
The brilliancy of this split-level glass structure lies in the suppleness of ambience lighting; its coziness is always attracting visitors and external light intensity change will not hinder ample lighting for reading.” Visitors comment.
Detailed effort has lavishly drained into preciseness and appropriateness in selecting the right kind and number of lighting utensils, theirs light intensity and the angles of beams. A combination of skills, creativity and experiences. The application of Confucius philosophy: be moderate. No more, no less. Lighting plan location, wattage, angle beam and colour temperature are considered carefully after accurate calculation with experience analysis under constraint of no dimming system. Concealed LED strip embedding inside suspended steel rods create flowing halo. This will generally braided hierarchy ambient. This geometric network and vibrant coloured furnitures, makes visitors slip into the Bauhaus world unnoticed.

Production Technology
Burial uplight to express the solemnity of the column and feature wall that extend through the three split levels and at the same time it enhances their texture. Custom made recessed accent lighting for enhance all the artifacts.
Design Challenge
Constraints are that the external glass structure gives rise to the aesthetic issue in providing electricity for lighting, supple lighting covering the spacious and non-partitioned three split levels construction and budget constraint that banned the usage of dimming system which caused the difficulties on balanced of light intensity. Also, the project is mounting the accent light inside the 60mmx55mm height steel rod, the custom made fixture to achieve the hierarchy effect perfectly for aim of high transparency purpose. Blend of aesthetic treatment and practicality.

Research
They are aiming to eliminate the “old rules” of traditional public building space forms for an exquisite unique library building that brings harmony to the public community.
During on the design stages, the project emphasized the functionality and aesthetic of the project space itself.
Following the above design goals, they have structured the building into a translucent glass boxes with three different split-levels, the four-sided glass curtains enclosed the sense of transparency which bought by the spacious.
In order to avoid and control the direct daylight refracted into the interior spaces , a photo-sensor has placed along the window areas to balancing the lighting intensity of lux levels of overall ambient during the daytime.
Through a tremendous data calculation and collection by Dialux software & on-site investigation for the analysis of the lighting design environment.
Inspiration
In order to fulfill the dual goals, a sales office and later as a library. The common key point is coziness: a place which one will lingers. The fixtures and furnishings are from the physical world, while mood and tone will dive deep to tickle our soul. The magic spell for this connection is "Light".
This creates the sense of being connected to the external world while enjoying the serenity and revitalizes our interests to explore. A state of Zen.
