Harmonious Forest is a landscape design for a site of 5300 square meters in Taichung. The layout is based on three elements: axes, blank space and layers. Layers of greenery and simple geometric lines are interwoven to reflect the aesthetic of eastern brush painting and calligraphy. A welcoming trail is lined with Taiwan pines, camphor trees, Madagascar almonds and bald cypresses. Grass, a small bridge, a flowing stream, blooming trees and a pond at the gate form a rustic scene. Windows frame the garden like a painting that changes with the seasons.
