This app, Inventory Fulfillment Mobile Suite, addresses the daily work of inventory staff who manage varied shipments and prepare items for orders. It organizes tasks around the physical layout of the warehouse and uses scan-to-action to bring users to the relevant record. Lists are ordered by aisle to limit backtracking, and shortages or substitutions are resolved within the same screen. The design emphasizes clear affordances, predictable flows, and feedback at scan time, refined through on site tests. The approach reduces errors and aligns digital records with what's on the shelf.

- Unique Properties
- Inventory Fulfillment Mobile Suite transforms how frontline inventory staff manage and execute fulfillment tasks in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Designed for clarity, adaptability, and real-world complexity, it unifies fragmented processes into a single, intuitive mobile workspace. Users can track inventory health, process work orders, and coordinate shipments with speed and confidence. From QR-enabled actions to location-aware task flows, interactions mirror physical world and movement patterns, reducing cognitive load and errors. The result is a tool that empowers staff to work fluidly, accurately, and with a clear sense of control.

- Production Technology
- The design was realized using mobile-first interaction design frameworks, responsive UI systems, and component-based prototyping tools. High-fidelity prototypes were built using Figma and tested across iOS and Android environments. The design was delivered for implementation in React Native, integrating with internal APIs and order management systems.
- Design Challenge
- The biggest challenge was designing for users constantly in motion, who relied on fragmented desktop systems not meant for mobile workflows. We had to rethink not just screens, but the sequence, spatial logic, and cognitive demands of real-world fulfillment tasks. The result is a system that thinks like the worker, not like the software.
- Project Duration
- 2 years, United States
- Operation Flow
- Users begin by scanning a shipment or selecting a work order. The app dynamically presents next actions based on inventory status and item location. Tasks like picking or counting are arranged by aisle, enabling users to move in a single direction. QR code scanning at key touchpoints reduces manual steps. Flows mirror real-world movement and empower users to complete fulfillment tasks efficiently, with less cognitive load and fewer errors.
- Research
- This research-driven design project involved field shadowing, journey mapping, and direct interviews with inventory staff. The goal was to identify friction in physical workflows and software interactions. Research revealed a mismatch between static desktop tools and dynamic, movement-based tasks. Through scenario testing and iterative prototyping, the team developed mobile-first flows, location-aware interfaces, and QR-enabled actions that align with how users move, think, and act in real-world environments.
- Inspiration
- This project was grounded in direct field research with inventory staff across warehouses and service centers. By observing their workflows, pain points, and physical environments, we uncovered critical mismatches between static desktop tools and their dynamic, movement-based work. This insight inspired a mobile design that mirrors real-world logic, reduces friction, and empowers users to act confidently while in motion.
