Le Rouge et le Noir is a fashion collection inspired by the musical adapted from Stendhal's novel of the same name. The collection interprets the emotions of the protagonist Julien through a French rock aesthetic. Nineteenth century European court silhouettes are combined with punk details. The classic red and black color scheme echoes the themes of the novel. Each piece is handcrafted with genuine leather, rivets, safety pins and other custom made elements. The result presents a meeting of classic and contemporary design elements.

Unique Properties
Inspired by the musical adapted from Stendhal's The Red and the Black, this design uses French rock style to depict protagonist Julien’s emotions in the 19th century. Rock’s rebellious spirit, though seemingly incompatible with the literary work, accurately captures the characters’ core.
Combining 19th-century European court costumes with punk elements, it adopts the classic red-and-black punk color scheme, echoing the novel’s themes, and presenting cross-era spiritual conflict and integration.
