MGY Base is an office building for an apparel brand in Tokyo, Japan. The design follows the idea of a secret base where people want to gather. The main floor is 6 metres high, and a large glass facade gives the impression of a semi-outdoor space. Wire mesh in the loft, industrial style lighting, and fixtures made of iron and scaffolding support the same theme. The building has a reinforced concrete structure and a total floor area of 124 square metres. The open interior is intended to encourage communication and comfortable work.

Operation Flow
Efficiency from the management perspective, offices are increasingly being consolidated into urban areas and are expanding in size. At the same time, more and more start-up companies and companies with an awareness of design management are creating unique offices with an emphasis on quality and design. Against this backdrop, the COVID-19 has called into question the meaning of the office. This was an opportunity to rethink the meaning of working and gathering in one place.
Inspiration
We tried to design an office that is a third-place that makes you want to assemble and work.
A place
1. where the clients and business associates would like to go and want to gather.
2. where the staff feel comfortable and want to work longer.
3. that is unique and playful.
We designed an office with these three points in mind to give a sense of the brand's personality.
