My Home Steak Far Eastern Store synergizes youthful vitality with immersive design, reimagining the traditional steakhouse as a dynamic social arena. The narrative begins at the entrance, where the letter O in the signage is metamorphosed into a fried egg basketball to spark playfulness. The buffet island is conceived as a youth runway, defined by an orange gradient ceiling and GO mosaic tiles that evoke the momentum of a racetrack. Red wave panels and sports ball lamps define the area, while dynamic light strips capture the pulse of a stadium, perfectly enhancing the Move to Eat spirit.

- "My Home Steak" is a social arena where taste and connection converge. Guided by "sports and togetherness," it redefines dining as a cultural ritual. Here, food is an emotional medium for identity and joy. Breaking from traditional buffets, the design features a track-shaped island and stadium ceiling that turn sports energy into interaction. This elevates dining from simple consumption into a collective celebration of belonging and shared dialogue.

- Production Technology
- My Home Steak Far Eastern Store blends youthful energy with thematic design. The space features a lit "MY HOME STEAK" sign, where the "O" creatively transforms into a fried-egg basketball, sparking appetite and vitality. The buffet island adopts a "youth runway" concept, highlighted by an orange gradient ceiling and mosaic "GO" tiles. Suspended sports-ball lamps and red wave-shaped panels further define the area while maintaining an open flow. Finally, dynamic light strips capture the rhythmic energy of a stadium, perfectly enhancing the "Move to Eat" spirit through visual motion.
- Design Challenge
- Our ethnographic research reimagined budget dining as a social hub. By observing and interviewing Gen Z diners, we explored how nostalgia triggers connection. A key challenge was balancing high-energy "sports" themes with a comfortable dining vibe. We overcame this by using rhythmic lighting and warm palettes to soften industrial elements. Results show that weaving campus memories into space turns meals into shared rituals, shifting business focus from cost to social value and brand loyalty.
- Project Duration
- The project started in October 2021 and finished in April 2025 in Taiwan, Taipei City.
- Operation Flow
- In this project, function extends beyond circulation and efficiency to explore human behavior and interaction. The focus is not just on how people eat, but how space brings them closer. A racetrack buffet layout ensures smooth flow and visual connection, while social, individual, and shared seating zones address different needs. Lighting and music guide behavior where soft light encourages conversation and rhythmic sound energizes the mood. From ergonomics to layout, every detail aims to make interaction natural, turning dining into a social experience shaped by space.
- Research
- This project asks if a restaurant can be more than a place to eat and become a vessel for connection and memory. In a digital era of fragmented interaction, our goal is to use spatial design to revive the culture of gathering around a meal. The concept has three layers where sports energy turns the space into a stage for shared passion, youth nostalgia makes dining a reflection of personal stories, and social media immediacy brings digital behavior into physical space. My Home Steak becomes a social platform where people share emotions, express identity, and create lasting experiences.
- Inspiration
- This project explores if a restaurant can transcend dining to become a vessel for memory. Inspired by the need to revive the culture of gathering, the design integrates three layers: sports energy as a stage for passion, youth nostalgia for personal storytelling, and social media immediacy to bridge digital and physical worlds. "My Home Steak" thus evolves into a social platform where spatial design fosters identity, emotion, and shared experiences beyond the meal.
