Peace of Mind is a residential interior design for a 90 square meter home. Modern minimalism guides the project, with pure geometry and low color saturation. A neutral grayscale palette moves from snow white to dark gray, while light gray walls and white ceilings diffuse light evenly. Matte metal, concrete paint and solid wood veneer add depth and warmth. Clean lines connect the kitchen, living room and multifunctional lounge. Concealed storage within walls and cabinets keeps the space open and uncluttered.

- Production Technology
- The design utilizes a rich palette of materials, including matte metal, concrete paint, and solid wood veneer. Cabinet handles and fine line accents create a subtle metallic sheen, while exposed concrete walls and concrete floors lend a rugged industrial aesthetic. The warmth of natural wood veneer infuses a touch of warmth and a human touch, mitigating the space's starkness. The careful proportions and coordination of the various materials enhance the overall sense of depth.
- Design Challenge
- The homeowner, a 55-year-old woman, left the design entirely to the designer, which proved to be the biggest challenge. The overall mood of the space is based on a sense of tranquility and meditation. Through minimalist visual white space, low-saturation color schemes, and organic curves, the space presents an understated yet intriguing aesthetic. The delicate textures and layering of materials guide the viewer's attention, allowing them to discover diverse details.
- Project Duration
- Started in June 2024 and completed in April 2025, in New Taipei ity,Taiwan.
- Operation Flow
- Streamlined corners, contoured walls, and ceilings create a sculptural aesthetic, enhancing the overall design's sculptural quality. The interplay of gently rounded ceiling edges and the geometric interplay of wood paneling on the walls creates a rhythmic aesthetic in every detail, evoking the space as a tranquil work of art. A clever blend of grayscale tones, rustic materials, and precise lines creates a simple yet dynamic living space, showcasing both professionalism and artistic refinement.
- Research
- The kitchen, living room, and lounge areas are integrated into a seamless, natural flow. Concealed storage cabinets are incorporated into the walls and cabinets to maintain a clean, uncluttered overall design. This allows living areas to extend into one another when needed without sacrificing order: the open kitchen seamlessly connects to the living room, fostering family interaction. Concealed storage systems maintain a spacious and airy space without disrupting visual flow or movement.
- Inspiration
- With modern minimalism as its core concept, the design creates a calm and restrained home atmosphere through pure geometry and low-color saturation. A neutral grayscale color palette, with a gradual transition from snow-white to dark gray, creates a tranquil atmosphere. Clean, sleek lines seamlessly connect the kitchen, living room, and multi-functional lounge area, allowing the eye to flow freely between the various functional areas, fully showcasing the openness and fluidity of modern living.
