Quinton is a residential interior design for a house in Sungai Buloh, Malaysia. The interior applies mid century design principles with a modern character. Clean lines, warm wood tones and natural marble are combined throughout the living spaces. Natural marble slabs were selected for their patterns and installed as focal points. Custom millwork and bespoke cabinetry define distinct zones within an open plan layout. Large windows bring in natural light. The internal built-up space is 225 square meters.

Natural marble slabs were carefully sourced and meticulously installed to highlight their unique patterns, becoming key focal points in the design.

- One of the key challenges in Quinton was blending mid century design elements with modern functionality while preserving the home’s timeless charm. Sourcing unique natural marble with the right balance of pattern and color required extensive research and careful selection. Additionally, ensuring seamless integration of bespoke cabinetry and custom details demanded close collaboration with artisans and fabricators.

- The project, based in Bandar Seri Coalfields, Sungai Buloh, Malaysia commence in December 2023 and completed in April 2024.

- Quinton is designed to offer a seamless flow between spaces, promoting both openness and functionality. The open-plan layout encourages natural movement, while strategically placed furniture and custom cabinetry define distinct zones without disrupting the overall harmony. Large windows bring in abundant natural light, enhancing the connection to the outdoors and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.

- The research for Quinton revolved around blending mid century design with modern lifestyle requirements. The objective was to explore how the clean lines and organic forms of mid-century architecture could be adapted to suit contemporary living without losing their timeless appeal.

- We were drawn to the clean lines, organic forms, and timeless appeal of mid century design, but aimed to give it a fresh twist with contemporary touches. The use of natural marble was central to the concept, chosen for its unique patterns and ability to add both luxury and character to the space. Our goal was to create a home that feels both elegant and inviting, a sanctuary that balances beauty and functionality, where every detail enhances the living experience.
