SB20 is a smart streetlight designed for public spaces. The luminaire is made of recycled aluminium alloy and has a flat, square form with smooth curves and a seamless surface. Lenses are replaced by pressing a button, and a magnetic connection keeps the optical parts flat for precise light distribution, so no tools are required. An adjustable head, several mounting brackets and an IP 67 rating suit different outdoor settings. Colour temperature and power are set mechanically. Sensors and a lighting management system can be added.

- The challenge was how to achieve easy maintenance. SB20 enables users to effortlessly replace lenses by pressing the touch sensitive buttons to release the lens frame, achieving quick changes in lighting distribution without professionals or tools. Such a design meets lighting requirements of different settings. The magnetic design ensures the flatness of the optical components to guarantee precise light distribution, which improves the performance and maintainability of the product.
- Project Duration
- The project started in Shenzhen in June, 2023 and finished in December, 2023. The product was exhibited at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition in June, 2024.
- Operation Flow
- SB20 enables color temperature and power adjustment through mechanical manipulation. The former creates an appropriate ambiance for the public space based on occasions and times, while the latter changes brightness according to actual needs.
SB20 with the proprietary DC sensor base and Z10 base makes possible lighting management and sensor integration, allowing users to install components like photoresistors and microwave sensors or connect the product to an intelligent lighting system as needed. - Research
