Super Park Complex is a science park built on a mountainous site in Chongqing, China. The complex covers 240000 square meters and is organized into six connected functional zones for working, living and leisure. Aerial corridors link the zones, and public green spaces support community interaction. Recycled local materials, modular prefabricated steel structures and vertical greening systems were used. Green coverage exceeds 60 percent, and sponge city measures control 85 percent of surface runoff. The design joins technology and nature in one community.

- Unique Properties
- This design redefines the concept of a science park by merging technological innovation with ecological and cultural elements. Its strength lies in the integration of six interrelated functional zones that create a self sustaining ecosystem. Unlike conventional industrial zones, this project blurs the boundaries between living, working, and leisure, forming a dynamic community rather than a segmented complex.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- The project covers a site area of 240000 square meters and includes multiple building types with variable FARs ranging from 1.2 to 3.5. Green coverage exceeds 60 percent with sponge city measures achieving 85 percent runoff control. Vertical greening systems reduce the heat island effect, and smart logistics systems support underground operation. Carbon sequestration reaches 12 Kilograms per square meter per year, and system interaction delays stay under 50 ms.

- Production Technology
- The project utilizes recycled local materials, modular prefabricated steel structures, and vertical greening systems. Advanced technologies such as RFID carbon tracking, bioswale rainwater recycling, and algae based carbon dioxide absorption were integrated. Aerial corridors and sponge city infrastructure enhance mobility and sustainability. Design development was supported by parametric modeling and iterative cross disciplinary coordination.
- Design Challenge
- The greatest challenge was reinterpreting the traditional science park under the constraints of mountainous terrain, fragmented land parcels, and high density demands. Balancing ecological preservation with intensive urban development required innovations in spatial organization, lightweight construction, and cross domain collaboration. The project overcame limitations in landform, policy, and material logistics through adaptive, low carbon, and modular solutions.
- Project Duration
- The project started in January 2023 in Chongqing, China and finished in December 2024.
- Operation Flow
- This urban complex operates as a multidimensional ecosystem where foot traffic, information, and energy flow through integrated spaces. Aerial pathways connect functional areas, while public green spaces invite community interaction. Residents and workers navigate effortlessly through interlinked nodes that combine nature with technology, enabling spontaneous collaboration, learning, and recreation throughout the day.
- Research
- This is an applied urban research project aiming to prototype a science ecology community integrated park model. Using mixed methods including spatial simulation, stakeholder interviews, environmental modeling, and digital design tools, the team involved designers, engineers, and planners. Results show optimized land use, improved biodiversity, and increased community interaction. The model contributes to sustainable urban policy, modular construction, and urban-rural integration practices.
- Inspiration
- This project is inspired by the vision of building a future oriented urban ecology that integrates technology, nature, and human life. Drawing from the unique mountainous terrain and cultural heritage of the region, the design concept reimagines the industrial park typology by transforming it into a vibrant, multifunctional community. The core idea of architectural parkification and park architecturalization reflects a shift toward inclusive and sustainable urban development.
