Togetherness is a residential interior design covering approximately 132 square meters in Taiwan. The entrance uses a reeded glass screen and a matte grey storage wall to form a calm buffer between the street and the home. The layout was reorganized into three plus one rooms with a living room and a dining room. The kitchen, dining and living areas are merged into one open social space, with the sink repositioned so cooking faces family activity. Materials include reeded glass, grey ceramic tiles, acrylic, railway tiles and wood textures. Linear ceiling lighting brightens the interior.

- Unique Properties
- The entrance is the home's most emotionally charged space. A reeded glass screen with a matte grey storage wall forms a buffer, inviting residents to release external burdens and enter peace. Modernity is conveyed through geometric restraint and refined hues, creating layered grace. The open social area merges kitchen, dining, and living, with flow defined by furnishings, beams, and cabinetry. A wood-grain dining table with acrylic legs adds a floating effect, while Spanish railway tiles enrich the walls. The tailored kitchen repositions the sink to connect cooking with family, making it the home's heartfelt hub.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- The interior space spans approximately 132 square meters and was reorganized into a 3 plus 1 rooms layout with a living room and a dining room. The original lack of storage was addressed by adding accessible compartments facing the entrance, kitchen, and living room. The kitchen and dining areas are adjacent, forming a seamless social area that enhances the dining table's role as the core of daily life. The balance between practicality and openness lends the entire space flexibility and connectivity.

- Production Technology
- The design features a juxtaposition of matte surfaces and subtle reflections, using materials like artistic wall finishes, reeded glass, gray ceramic tiles, acrylic, railway tiles, and wood textures. The palette is grounded in off-white, warm gray, and skin-tone grey, balanced with light curtains and wooden accents to bring warmth to a muted space. Linear lighting embedded in the ceiling enhances brightness while streamlining visual outlines and reinforcing a modern atmosphere.
- Design Challenge
- The main challenge was translating the owners' abstract vision of 'emotional transformation upon entry' into a tangible spatial experience. Since perceptions of 'home' vary from person to person, aligning on a shared vision required ongoing dialogue. The designers employed visual references and iterative proposals to eventually craft an emotional cadence both parties resonated with-realized through clean lines and modern minimalism that gently envelopes the user upon return.
- Project Duration
- The project finished in Taiwan.
- Operation Flow
- After moving in, the host expressed particular satisfaction with the kitchen-dining integration. With a layout tailored to his habits, the kitchen now opens up to family interactions during cooking. The open circulation also makes everyday meals more anticipated by all. The view of the window scene through the reeded glass partition becomes a key emotional checkpoint. Meanwhile, the custom entry storage and independent pantry contribute to clear organization, making the home not just beautiful but also high-functioning and efficient.
- Research
- Crafted for a resident who values calm and rhythm, the project begins with the idea that 'returning home is reuniting with the true self.' The entry, marked by reeded glass and skin-tone grey walls, creates a gentle threshold of serenity. Minimalist lines and muted tones define a quiet lifestyle, while the dining area blends acrylic, wood, and an eggshell pendant to reflect shared time. The kitchen and island, tailored to the homeowner's habits, enhance function and connection, making cooking an intimate daily ritual.
- Inspiration
- The project is located in Miaoli and designed for the owner who has spent years living abroad and values both quality of life and functional aesthetics due to a fast-paced lifestyle. The initial request was to create a space where one could instantly shift gears and shed social roles upon returning home. The designers responded by centering the concept on 'the security of home and emotional transition.' Using a muted palette and soft tones, the entrance space introduces the residence with reeded glass partitions and skin-tone grey walls-setting a calm, elegant tone in a modern style with clean-lined design.
