About Gloria Ring, Armband

Gloria is een sieradencollectie bestaande uit een ring en een armband. Het ontwerp is geïnspireerd op de aureool, een lichtgevende ring die kunstenaars rond de hoofden van heiligen schilderen als teken van deugd. De hoofdringen van de ring en het lichaam van de armband zijn met de hand gevormd uit draad. Ook de stenen zijn met de hand vervaardigd uit natuurlijke materialen, zonder chemische kleurstoffen of toegevoegde stoffen, zodat de stenen kunnen terugkeren naar de natuur. De stukken kunnen afzonderlijk of gecombineerd worden gedragen, waardoor de vorm en de functie kunnen veranderen. Het doel is om de verheffing van de menselijke geest tot uitdrukking te brengen in een draagbaar object.

Production Technology: The main shanks of the ring and the body of the bracelet are made by wire handforming and the stones’ materials are totally natural and environment friendly and in fact, no sort of chemical colors or substances has been used during the process of making.
Design Challenge: After searching in various features of natural materials, manifold techniques were tested to specify the optimal crafting method; so eventually a crafting process was selected out of sustainable and unique methods for making the stones of this collection.
Research: The design data of this collection and specially its stones, are garnered through information gathering and field & empirical studies.
Inspiration: (Gloria), In the dictionary it means halo, worshiping and praying of God the Almighty.The halo is a luminous ring which artists paint around the head of Saints or Mormons; this was used as the inspiration of the design.
Project Duration: This project started in 2017 and ended in 2019 after making the preliminary prototypes.
