About Nudibranch Hotel en Resort

Nudibranch is een hotel en resort gelegen op het eiland Nanji in de provincie Zhejiang, China. Het ontwerp beslaat 31.000 vierkante meter en is geïnspireerd op zeedieren die rond het eiland voorkomen, zoals de zeenaaktslak en andere schelpdieren. Het gebouw is opgetild op zachte poten die de grond verbinden met restaurants, bars, een spa en een zwembad. De publieke ruimte doet denken aan een zwevende ruimte boven het zand. De zandgrond loopt door tot in het hotel en vormt een buitenspeelplaats in de schaduw. Milieuvriendelijke technologieën verminderen de impact op het milieu.

Unique Properties: The building blends the boundaries between the building and the landscape by its organic form and flexible connectivity; it sits on the site like a nudibranch crouching on the peaceful bay. Many Eco-friendly technologies have been installed to minimize the environment impact.
Dimensions & Packaging: 31000 Sq Meters
Inspiration: The design is inspired by sea creatures, which the island is famous for, such as nudibranch and other shellfish. This “mollusk” lifts itself by its soft legs and stretches its tentacles to explore different directions.The public part resembles a floating space above the sand. The sandy ground blends into the hotel to become an outdoor playground in the shadow cast by the building above. The legs connect the ground to restaurants and bars, and the SPA and swimming pool to to the public space.
