Ontwerpuitdaging: The creative challenge was to capture these inspirational moments of some of the best Olympic athletes achieving their goals in a visually interesting way, by using fresh drawing angles and different perspectives in the style of illustration, and focusing on the energetic movement of athletes, while applying that to the overall art direction with a vibrant gradient color palette.
Onderzoek: Since the illustrator was inspired by real iconic figures from the Olympic Games, qualitative research was conducted in the form of data collection about famous Olympians like Florence Griffith, Usain Bolt, and Farida Osman, to study the anatomy of their movements and try to commemorate some of their career highlights. Mood boards were then created to help tell the story guided by the script. The outcome was vivid illustrations powered by an energetic color palette and unique perspectives.
Inspiratie: Inspired by real figures from the history of the Olympic Games. They are all proof that strength comes from within and it conquers any obstacle, pain, and injustice.
