The Design

About Mao Xin Tea House Visuele Identiteit

Unique Properties
The logo design was meant to bring out the beauty of oriental tea and its culture. In particular this teas specialty which is two leaves to every one root. When you combine that with the local tea culture it is very easy to connect it with the zen culture as many of plots are set out in a circular manner similar to a Japanese rock garden.

Finding the right design to attract the attention of a younger generation of new users.
Research
Mao Xin Tea House was first construction in 1928 during the Japanese colonial period. It is a place that is Japanese designed where people can drink tea, learn to roast tea leaves, admire the local tea fields, and learn about tea culture. Which is why i felt that using Japanese inspired designs would help bring out the natural beauty of the surrounding area and architecture.
Inspiration
The Mao Xin tea house has produced four generations of tea farmers here in Taiwan. The Tseng family have been growing tea all the way from the Japanese colonial era to this day. The entire family has a very deep emotional connection to the local culture especially that involving tea and its Zen. It is an aspiration for the entire family to be able to continue passing this on to future generations.
Project Duration
The project started in Mar 2018 in Taiwan and finished in Sep 2018 in Taiwan.
Operation Flow
The logo can be used on many different types of packaging also in many places around the interior or even exterior of the store. Places could include cups, business cards, the store sign, menus or a pop up event. This will help create brand recognition.
