About Galaxy Command HQ of ACG Vlaggenschipwinkel

Unique Properties
E-Muse is the major of ACG distributor in Asia. Besides their online store, this project is their first brick and mortar store to present the related products of their IP providers to have actual contacts with ACG fans. E-Muse wanted to discover a new way of interaction with customers and to have a wider audience.
By narrative design method as to embrace the contextual marketing, we created an imaginative place for ACG lovers to shop in reality. Therefore, they will have the opportunities to land on bigger ACG retail shop and to distribute their products.
Dimensions & Packaging

Production Technology
The customer’s journey consists of 5 zones: 1. Lobby for the feature exhibition, 2. Reception for customer service, 3. Armament Centre for accessories display of various characters; 4. The Muse Room as a transitional space, indicating the changing outfits to alter personal identity, and 5. Outside area as a multi-reflective tunnel city.
Manga graphics and reflective materials are the major design elements to create an unpredictable place of multiple universes, where time and stories are overlapped.
Design Challenge
Using the narrative design method, it is necessary to reach a consensus on Contextual Marketing with the owner. By this way, we know how to help consumers achieving their goals in the moment. Furthermore, with the understanding of the age range, gender, and internet, it could helps us to create a scene to be experienced – whereas to make the experience behavior have a positive meaning and no longer as a devalued subculture. Therefore we could achieved E-Muse's brand goals.
Research
RH Design Group has been done a research on the behavior of ACG culture and Otaku (a person who has interests particularly in the fields of anime and manga). These two groups have similar desire, where imaginations could be able to become real. Besides, based of their point of view, stepping into the real world regardless of the facts is a liberation. Its design narrative allures one into celebrating their unique persona. The main reasons why we use the narrative design method.
Inspiration
The unknown of multiple universes inspire us to practice the extended modal realism.
All possible worlds are real in the same way as the actual world, for ACG fans and for us.
Project Duration
Oct.2020~May.2021 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Operation Flow
ACG related products are very complex and diverse, also usually appear messy. Since the products themselves are various, it is important to create a new real retail shop that links ACG with the customers. The design started with by a narrative method to make the product display not to derive on the IP but by the storyline. The strong visual tension of the design is derived from the solid color as a confrontation of other universe, bringing a new sense of imagination to the shopping experience. Moreover, it is expected could emphasize the social attributes as a ACG retail shop.
