About Almana Medisch Centrum

Het ontwerp is bedoeld om patiënten te verminderen; angst en stress, herstel versnellen, ziekenhuisopnames verkorten, medicatiegebruik verminderen, pijn verminderen en een gevoel van welzijn bevorderen door een goed ontworpen helende omgeving te creëren. Ruimtes zijn ontworpen om koesterend en therapeutisch te zijn. Op organisatorisch niveau helpt het ontwerp de tevredenheid, productiviteit en retentie van het personeel te verbeteren. Vorm van het gebouw zorgt voor de natuurlijke stroom van ruimte, lucht en licht. Het ontwerp combineert geavanceerde werkwijzen voor verlichting, daglicht, HVAC en waterbehandelingssystemen die aanzienlijk minder energie verbruiken.

Unique Properties: Well-designed healthcare environments can reduce patients’ anxiety and stress, accelerate recovery, shorten hospitalizations, reduce medication use, lessen pain, and promote a sense of well-being. On the organizational level, therapeutic environments can help enhancing staff recruitment, satisfaction, productivity and retention.

Production Technology: The design was based on natural light and natural materials.
High performance glazing system was chosen for elevations and skylight to get the most healthy use of daylight. Terracotta tiles was chosen for exterior cladding.
Design Challenge: The real challenge was how to adapt the design to create a healing environment that in turn reduces patients' anxiety and stress, speeds recovery, shortens hospitalization, reduces medication use, reduces pain, and promotes well-being. Inspiration: The concept to create healing environment to engage patients in the conscious process of self-healing and spiritual growth. Spaces are designed to be nurturing and therapeutic and, most important, to reduce stress. The design creates a clear separation of zones of activities, with departments and functions located based on access point proximity, flow and way-finding. All clinics and staff spaces provide access to outside views and landscaped terraces.

Operation Flow: The design creates a clear separation of zones of activities, with departments and functions located based on access point proximity, flow and way-finding. Design of building is modular so there is ease of understanding, movement and fining the required section.
