About Persian Peacock Ring Cocktailring

De Persian Peacock Ring is een cocktailring voor vrouwen. Het ontwerp is geïnspireerd op de pauw, die in de Perzische mythologie een symbool is van het paradijs, koninklijkheid, adel en schoonheid. Organische en dynamische vormen worden gecombineerd met verschillende metaalkleuren en edelstenen. Smaragd en saffier vertegenwoordigen de veren van de pauw in groen en blauw. De ring werd gemodelleerd met driedimensionale software, geprint in was en direct gegoten in drie delen. De edelstenen zijn gezet met een micro-zettechniek. De bovenkant van de kop en de ogen zijn verguld met geelgoud.

Unique Properties: Using organic and dynamic forms in the design. Combining different elements and shapes in design with different metal colour and gemstones.
Dimensions & Packaging: Width and length of the piece from the top view are about 42mm.
Its weight is about 35 grams in sterling silver.

Production Technology: Different software packages used for designing and 3D-modelling the ring. Then, it 3D-printed in wax and direct cast in three parts.
Finally, gemstones set on Hero ring by using Micro-setting technique. Top of the head and eyes plated in yellow gold.
Design Challenge: Making a big cocktail ring in all steps is challenging. Making the high detailed and producible design on the computer, casting and mounting this piece was part of the challenge.
Research: Researching about the symbolic meaning of the peacock is Persian mythology.
Inspiration: Persian peacock ring inspired by the peacock. In Persian mythology, the peacock is a symbol of paradise, regality, nobility and beauty.
Project Duration: The project started in April 2019 and finished in May 2019.
Operation Flow: Using 3d modelling software packages and 3d-printing technology could help to achieve an accurate and high detailed design.
