About Folded 01 Eetkamerstoel
Folded 01 is een eetkamerstoel. De zitting en rugleuning zijn gevormd uit één enkel vel ruw aluminium, met de hand gebogen. De gevouwen vorm geeft de stoel stevigheid en een natuurlijk buigend effect dat het comfort verhoogt. Het aluminiumvel is gemonteerd op een gekleurd stalen frame, dat voor een subtiel kleuraccent zorgt. Het ontwerp is geïnspireerd op het vouwen van een vierkant papieren briefje, dat eenmaal gevouwen stevig wordt. De stoel meet 450 mm in de breedte, 500 mm in de diepte en 800 mm in de hoogte. Het doel was om terug te keren naar de essentie van het object met een minimalistische uitstraling.

- Folded 01 is the latest design by Erno Dierckx.By experimenting with production methods a dinningchair was born.
Erno Dierckx tries to challenge the way excitingchairs are constructed and goes back to the essence of the product. The object has a minimalistic yet sophisticated look. The chair consists out of honestand durable materials with a subtle color detail. - Dimensions & Packaging

- The chair consist out of a hand bended aluminum sheet. The raw material is combined with a coloured steel frame.

- The main challenge was te find a reliable folding technique with a minimal and beautiful appearance
- Inspiration
- The idea started while playing with a post-it note used to right down ideas. By folding the square sheet a rigid shape arises. This technique was used to construct a chair. The folded chair consists out of a raw aluminum sheet bend by hand and mounted on a colored steel frame.
- Project Duration
- Project started Februari 2018 in Antwerp Belgium and finished november 2019. First time exhibited Contemporary design fair Brussels.
- Operation Flow
- Folded 01 is a dinning chair made out of a single sheet raw aluminum. The folding technique gives the chair the needed comfort and has a natural bending effect
