Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
My journey in design began when I was eleven years old, sparked by a profound fascination with visual expression. This early curiosity eventually evolved into a professional commitment spanning over two decades. While I didn't always know I would become a designer, the continuous need to translate complex thoughts into visual realities made this path feel like an inevitable calling.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
I operate as an independent freelance designer. This allows me to maintain a direct, hands-on relationship with my clients, ensuring that every design project receives my undivided attention and a personalized approach.
What is "design" for you?
Design, to me, is the art of strategic simplification. It is the process of stripping away the unnecessary to reveal the core truth of a brand or idea, ensuring that what remains is not only beautiful but highly functional.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
I focus primarily on deep problem identification. I believe that a successful design is not just an aesthetic achievement but a solution to a specific challenge. My process revolves around stripping away the non-essential to find the most efficient and creative path that fosters a meaningful experience for the end-user. Correctly defining the problem is the fundamental key to every project I undertake.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
Designers are responsible for shaping the visual culture we live in. My role is to create work that respects the environment—by avoiding 'disposable design'—and to foster honest communication that helps audiences make better-informed decisions.
When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
I have not held a solo exhibition yet, as my primary focus has been on delivering impactful branding and identity projects for my clients. However, I look forward to participating in design showcases or exhibitions that align with my vision of minimalist visual communication in the future.
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
My style is characterized by purposeful minimalism. I approach design as an architect of thought; I look for the tension and balance between elements. My goal is to create visual identities that are not just trendy, but timeless and adaptable.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
My process is research-driven and iterative. It starts with deep listening and understanding the client's core challenge. From there, I move to conceptual sketching and geometric exploration, constantly refining the balance between form and meaning until the solution feels inevitable.
What skills are most important for a designer?
The most critical skill is the ability to listen and 'see' beyond one’s own cognitive schemas. A designer must be able to step outside their personal biases and past experiences to fully understand the challenge from the perspective of both the client and the target audience. It is about objective empathy and the capacity to synthesize diverse viewpoints into a coherent visual strategy.
Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
Design is inherently a collaborative process. While I am the one crafting the final form, I consider my work a collective result. A project’s success relies on engaging with marketing, production, and sales teams, as well as keeping the end-user in mind. I believe in breaking down silos; one cannot design in isolation when the impact is collective. Furthermore, within the creative process, I often partner with specialists like illustrators to enrich the final design.
Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
I would like to emphasize that we are all part of a larger global entity. If we view the world as a living organism, each of us functions as a cell within that body. Consequently, we have a collective responsibility to improve the quality of life within this world, even in the smallest ways. Design is a medium through which we honor this commitment; by enhancing the quality of our surroundings, we inevitably enhance our own existence. It is a shared responsibility that rests on each individual.
