The design is rooted in nature as its primary language, translating the essence of outdoor landscapes into a spatial experience defined by light, materiality, and perception.
What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
The design is rooted in nature as its primary language, translating the essence of outdoor landscapes into a spatial experience defined by light, materiality, and perception. It is based on the idea that harmony emerges through the balance of contrasting elements—solid and void, light and shadow, nature and structure.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
The main focus was to create a calm yet refined living environment that balances functionality with emotional resonance, allowing residents to reconnect with nature within a contemporary setting.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
The design has the potential to be adapted into real residential projects or further developed into a design prototype for contemporary living concepts.
How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
The concept development and design process took approximately several weeks, including research, spatial planning, and refinement.
Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
This project was initiated from a personal exploration of how architecture can restore a connection between humans and nature, rather than being a commissioned work.
Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
Currently, the design exists as a conceptual project, but it is open to collaboration, development, or potential production in future residential projects.
What made you design this particular type of work?
Residential design offers a direct way to influence daily life, making it an ideal medium to explore the relationship between space, emotion, and nature.
Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
The design is influenced by minimalist architecture and the integration of natural elements, as well as contemporary approaches to spatial fluidity and material expression.
Who is the target customer for his design?
The target users are individuals who value a balanced lifestyle—those who seek tranquility, aesthetic quality, and a strong connection to nature.
What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
Unlike purely aesthetic or purely functional designs, this project integrates emotional experience, spatial clarity, and natural elements into a cohesive system.
How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
The name reflects the concept of “harmony in contrast,” emphasizing that opposing elements do not compete but complete each other.
Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
The project was developed using digital modeling, rendering, and visualization tools to explore spatial quality and material expression.
What is the most unique aspect of your design?
The most distinctive aspect lies in its seamless integration of nature and architecture, creating a spatial narrative that feels both grounded and elevated.
Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
The design was primarily developed independently, with reference to interdisciplinary knowledge in architecture, interior design, and environmental design.
What is the role of technology in this particular design?
Technology played a key role in visualizing spatial atmosphere, testing material combinations, and refining design details.
Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
The design is informed by research on spatial psychology, natural lighting, and contemporary living patterns.
What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
One of the main challenges was balancing openness with spatial definition, ensuring both fluidity and clarity within the layout.
How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
Submitting to an international competition was a way to share the concept globally and gain professional recognition and feedback.
What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
This project deepened the understanding of how subtle design decisions can influence emotional perception and spatial experience.
Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
This project represents an ongoing exploration of how design can create meaningful connections between people, space, and nature.
