About Samsung Bot Chef Robotarm for kjøkken

Samsung Bot Chef er et konsept for en robotarm designet for bruk på hjemmekjøkkenet. Armen samarbeider med mennesker for å hakke, røre, krydre og tilberede måltider. Enkle talekommandoer veileder hvert trinn. Naturlig språkbehandling gjør at vanlige oppskrifter kan leses og forstås, og oppgaver fordeles mellom armen og kokken. Sensorer gjør det mulig å gripe håndtak fast for å røre eller vispe, og å klemme forsiktig på en sausflaske. Vanlige kjøkkenredskaper og -utstyr benyttes. Den slanke kroppen måler 90 x 90 x 1200 millimeter når den er fullt utstrakt.

Unique Properties: Samsung Bot Chef is a product concept that brings cutting edge robotics to the home. Designed to work collaboratively with humans in the kitchen, Bot Chef can help chop, stir, season, and cook the perfect meal through simple voice interactions. Bot Chef can read, understand, and assign tasks in regular recipes through natural language processing, and is designed to use everyday kitchen tools and utensils.

Production Technology: Bot Chef combines the latest advances in human-robot interaction, mechatronics, AI, and computer vision in a user-friendly design that anyone can use. With its intuitive skill-based software, Bot Chef is also well suited for small businesses that have been unable to tap into the automation revolution due to the prohibitive costs of robots and programming.
Design Challenge: Size, cost, and form factor are critical to the acceptance of heavy industrial machinery such as robotic arms in a more consumer-facing environment such as the home kitchen or small businesses. Designed from the ground up, Bot Chef's custom hardware and software brings the functionality of pro-grade equipment to the home in a sleek form factor, all while retaining the power and effectiveness on cutting-edge robotics.
Research: According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, women and men spend over 1 hour a day in food and drink preparation and kitchen work. These activities involve several tedious, time-consuming and repetitive tasks. How might we help people regain precious quality time in their day by bringing advances in automation and robotics to the home environment?
Inspiration: Bot Chef was inspired by our love of cooking, and the desire to make meal preparation a more enjoyable and rewarding experience for both home cooks and professional chefs. Kitchen work and food preparation involves several tedious, time-consuming and repetitive tasks, and everyone could use an "extra hand" in the kitchen. Our innovative hardware and software brings cutting edge advances in robotics and automation to the home in an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly form-factor.
Project Duration: This project has been under development since August 2018, and been showcased at numerous trade events such as KBIS 2019, IFA 2019, and CES 2020.
Operation Flow: Bot Chef can understand and respond to simple voice commands from the user. Through advanced natural language processing, Bot Chef can read, understand, and assign tasks to itself and the human chef in regular recipes. Sensors allow it to grasp handles firmly to stir or whisk, and also gently squeeze a bottle of sauce. Need to change up the recipe? It's as easy as saying "Hey Bot Chef, add some Sriracha!"
