Gere ndi shelefu yamagwiridwe ambiri yopangira ziwiya, yopangidwa kwa makichini ndi zipinda zodyeramo zazing'ono. Mbale za Gere zimapanga mbali yakutsogolo ya shelefuyo yooneka ngati chithunzithunzi choyimirira, kotero kuti mkati mwake mumakhalabe malo aulere a makapu, magalasi ndi ziwiya zina. Shelefuyi imapangidwa ndi mtengo wa oak, ndipo mbale zake zimapangidwa ndi dothi lopangira mbale (porcelain). Gere imapachikidwa pa khoma, ndipo mizere yosiyanasiyana imatha kutsitsidwa pansi kuti muchotse mbale kapena kufikira zinthu zosungidwa. Kapangidwe kake ka gridi kamalola kukula kosiyanasiyana malinga ndi mabanja osiyanasiyana. Gulu la ziwiyazi limatha kuwonjezedwa mwamagawo.

Gere Chishalfu cha Ziwiya ndi mmodzi mwa opambana a Mphoto ya Bronze ya A' Design Award, kuzindikirika kolemekezeka kwambiri komwe kumaperekedwa kwa mapangidwe abwino kwambiri omwe amaonekera ndi luso lolenga, kuchenjera ndi nzeru zakuthwa. Opambana a Bronze ndi zinthu zaluso kwambiri ndi zolenga modabwitsa zomwe zimatsimikizira zochitika zazikulu, kulingalira ndi kuchenjera kwa opanga awo. Gere Chishalfu cha Ziwiya akuyembekezeka kukhala chinthu choyamikiridwa, chosirira ndi chokondedwa, chaukatswiri wapadera ndi chatsopano. Mapangidwe opambana Mphoto ya Bronze ya A' Design Award awa amaphatikiza machitidwe abwino kwambiri a luso, sayansi, kapangidwe ndi ukadaulo ndipo ndi abwino kwambiri chifukwa cha kusamala kwawo zazing'ono. Gere Chishalfu cha Ziwiya amakwaniritsa zosowa mokongola, kukhudza zilakolako, kukopa mitima ndi kudzutsa chidwi.

- Gere as the combination of shelf and plates uses its plates to create the relief-like front of the shelf. The thereby free interior space can be used to store more crockery, cups, glasses, etc.
The gridlike structure of Gere allows scalable sizes of the shelf, so that a family can use a bigger Gere than a single household. - Miyezo ndi Kuphimba

- To enable the functional interaction of shelf and plates, material properties had to be calculated. The shelf of Gere consists out of oak wood, because it is local, sturdy and insensitive against water. The plates of Gere were concepted using 3D-graphic-software and then 3D-printed. The resulting objects were translated to plaster mold and finally cast in porcelain.

- The project was created during the first year of the corona pandemic. There were a lot of restrictions on the use of workshops and the purchase of materials. During the process, i was challenged with iterations, new processing techniques such as working with a cnc milling machine and calculating material properties such as porcelain-shrinkage and material waste.

- During the research process multiple methods such as a survey, a market analysis, interviews with the target group and the user journey map were used.
This resulted in detailed insights about selling points for kitchen-shelfs and plates, storage in kitchens, structuring items in the kitchen and overall interaction points with shelfs and plates. - Chilimbikitso
- Housing is becoming smaller. Space has to be used in a meaningful way. People use minimalism to reduce their possessions and multifunctional products to save space.
The inspiration of the project were small kitchen spaces with large shelfs, filled with staples of round plates that leave lots of unused space. The focus of the project was to create a crockery shelf as small as needed by people in small housing. - Nthawi ya Polojekiti
- The project started in early summer 2020 in Aachen and finished in September 2020.
- Mdondomeko ya Ntchito
- Gere is ideally hung on the wall in the kitchen or dining room. Individual rows can be folded down to take stored items out of the inside or to remove a plate from the front. The plates have segments so that the main course and the side dish can be placed separately on one plate and thus be transported easily. In addition to the storage space in the front, there is the option of storing more crockery, cups, glasses, etc. on the shelves behind. The crockery set is modularly expandable.
