Blink es un dispositiu medical domestic concebut per mesurar los signes vitals e realizar de tèsts medicals de basa. L'unitat compacta mesura la pression arteriala e la temperatura corporala, e supòrta los tèsts de sang, d'urina e de saliva. Blink guida l'utilizaire a travèrs cada etapa de la collècta de donadas e de la transmission dels resultats a un metge, que pòt mandar en retorn son avejaire. De perfiles d'utilizaire permeton a mantun membre de la familha d'utilizar lo meteis aparelh. De donadas domesticas fisablas ajudan al diagnostic e reduson lo temps, lo còst e l'energia necessaris pels tèsts de rotina. Blink mesura 200 mm per 130 mm per 160 mm.

Unique Properties: Blink was designed to be used at home by patients to measure their vital signs and perform basic medical tests. It guides users through the process of collecting data and reporting it to their physician. It also enables physicians to provide feedback to patients, enhancing the doctor-patient relationship. Blink empowers self-care, encouraging users to be more proactive with their health. By producing reliable
data, it also enhances the diagnosing process and saves time, money and energy.

Design Challenge: One of the design challenges was to determine the product’s core elements and to organize them in the most accessible and compact way. Hygiene, guidance, and communication were the main considerations. The device also had to be suitable for home use and guide the user through each stage of use.
Research: My original impetus for the idea was to empower the user to be more proactive about his health rather than being reactive. In order to increase the quality of healthcare, I tried to find alternative solutions for better and healthier communication between the patient and the physician. I have visited biochemical labs of hospitals to decide the best vitals for home tests. I had a chance to speak with physicians and biochemists and discuss my project aim. After the design process, I did interviews and user testing with end-users for seamless user experience.
Inspiration: Blink is a smart monitoring device that shifts the experience of performing medical tests from long lines and long waits in hospitals to a simple and unobtrusive task undertaken in the comfort and convenience of home. In the current healthcare system, a great deal of time, energy and money is expended to receive detailed health information. Blink aims to change that.
Project Duration: The project started in February 2016 in Ankara and finished in June 2016, was exhibited in Science at Home Exhibition in Ankara and Turkey Design Week Exhibition in Istanbul.
Operation Flow: Through its straightforward, compact design, Blink measures blood pressure, body temperature and can be used to perform blood, urine and saliva tests. With the easy-to-use interface and the ability to set up profiles, multiple family members can use the same device. It is simple, userfriendly, multifunctional and hygienic.
