About Flow Wazon
Flow to kolekcja szklanych wazonów inspirowana ruchem płynnego szkła. Kolekcja obejmuje trzy kształty i jest dostępna w kolorze niebieskim oraz fioletowym. Każde naczynie jest ręcznie dmuchane i formowane, a następnie sygnowane i numerowane, dzięki czemu każdy egzemplarz nosi swój własny wzór barw w warstwach szkła.

Its a methaphor for a soul of a piece that makes it more than mere interior object.

- Production Technology
- Flow Collection mixes Scandinavian cool with capricious Finnish glass blowing techniques that allow color flow freely within the glass layers. Collection has three shapes and the design is available in blue and purple. Vessels are mouth blown and shaped by hand, signed and numbered. Made in Mafka&Alakoski Glass Studio, Finland.
- Design Challenge
- The creative challenge of the project is to use color in an abstract way and still create harmoniouss impressions. The glass making process of the collection is mixing multiple traditional glass blowing techniques in a fresh and new way.
- Research
- The Flow Collection experiments with the contrasting nature of the medium. How thick and voluminous glass can look weightless and how the optics of the medium influence the movement of color.
- Inspiration
- Flow Collection brings 3D perspective into abstract brush strokes. The inspiration of the Collection flows from the Scandinavian aesthetics and a sense of beauty. A simplified shape can become multi-dimensional in glass medium; There is the visual layer of glass: how does the glass reflect, how will the colors look in different light. Above all there are also the historical layers of glass and the rare knowledge behind the craftsmanship.
- Project Duration
- The project was started in January 2021 in Riihimaki, Finland. Exhibited in Hong Kong 2021.
- Operation Flow
- The design philosophy of the collection is to create objects that bring serenity into our everyday life. The moment when a studio made vessel is used is special. When light is gleaming trough the glass, the shadow of the piece comes alive reflecting the inner color play.
