About Jiangnan No.1 Courtyard Kompleks Mieszkalny

Jiangnan No. 1 Courtyard to kompleks mieszkalny zbudowany w Hangzhou, w Chinach. Projekt łączy tradycyjną architekturę chińską ze współczesnym stylem życia. Spadziste dachy nawiązują do delikatnych proporcji linii tradycyjnych domów, a wysunięte gzymsy sprawiają wrażenie lekkich i okazałych. Dziedzińce umieszczono pomiędzy elastycznymi przestrzeniami wewnętrznymi, natomiast zewnętrzny mur wyznacza granicę i chroni prywatność. Ciemnoszare, romboidalne płytki, aluminiowe listwy, kamień oraz okna sięgające od podłogi do sufitu nadają budynkom przejrzysty i wyrafinowany wygląd.

Unique Properties
Aiming to show a southern residence with Eastern traditions, Jiangnan No. 1 Courtyard sees that history and modern life are connected through modern architecture. While the pitched roofs inherit the gentle and graceful line proportions of traditional houses, the projected cornices pose as generosity and lightness. Both simple modernity and traditions are maintained in such architectural details as these.
Dimensions & Packaging
There are three main aspects as followed:
1. Technical details of the cornice closing of the sloping roof: by adding small materials, the cornice burrs are closed up, and at the same time, the cornice is visually thinned.

2. Technical details of the diamond-shaped title closing: trim the diamond tile to increase refinement.

3. Wall roofing: adopt clay roofing, and through the special design of roofing, the effect is guaranteed under the requirements of cost control.

Production Technology
Optimization of aluminum alloy sections for corner cornices: pre-fabricated in the factory, installed on site, and the section seams remain on the straight section. It solves the problem that the quality of the joints in the construction of the corner aluminum alloy is difficult to guarantee.

Further application of stone paint: use the double-wall method to simulate the façade advance and retreat of the stone curtain wall; use the L-row metal groove to combine the paint to ensure the smoothness of the interface between the paint and the stone.
Design Challenge
Design sustainability:
Tang-style architecture, sustainability of traditional culture (revival).
The garden-style layout reproduces nature and is sustainable to nature.
The use of stone paint instead of natural stone is sustainable for cost and natural resources.
Research
The architectural layout and spatial order follow the ancient artistic conception to see the big in the small, and the scenery is different from step to step.

The roof of the building has far-reaching eaves, soothing the atmosphere, and at the same time, the traditional Chinese tube tiles are optimized into modern and exquisite diamond-shaped tiles. The roof as a whole is majestic.

On the facade of the building, the windows and walls are separated from the roof, and the walls and windows are combined freely, presenting interweaved solidity and transparency. Opening the corners and cancelling the corner columns ensure the penetration of the landscape.

Architectural landscape. With well-arranged opening and closing, interspersed inside and outside, the scenery varies along with your move.
Inspiration
Introduction of Tang style. Tang-style architecture is simple and elegant, with no components added purely for decoration. The form, function, material, structure and craftsmanship are consistent and meet contemporary aesthetic requirements. Tang-style architecture has a very high status and profound achievements in the history of Chinese architecture. Adopting Tang-style construction can bring high added value to the community, and can also echo the needs of modern upstarts for high-end quality of life.

Pursue of Suzhou gardens’ charm. Suzhou-style gardens focus on the unity and integration of people and nature, and oppose any far-fetched and deliberate carving. The building layout is flexible, the courtyards are rich in combination, and the landscape is imitated for nature, which meet the needs of contemporary living for layout and space, as well as the yearning for nature.
Project Duration
The project started in 2017.11 in Hangzhou, China and finished in 2019.03.
Operation Flow
